My wife and I had a very nice stay at Artist's Nook. We always had the pool to ourselves, the beds were comfortable, the showers were awesome, and the air conditioners were able to keep up (no mean feat in the tropics). The clothes dryer doesn't vent to the outside though, so if the house is buttoned up while you are using it, the aircons will be doing double duty. Fellow coffee fiends should be familiar with press pots, and fellow world travelers should remember to bring your own voltage converter if necessary. We really appreciated the Nook's location in Port Douglas. We were able to walk to the marina, the beach, and downtown without difficulty (we could even get home before the ice cream melted!), and traffic on the street in front of the Nook was almost nonexistent. Even better is that there is no one across the street except the cane toads and flying foxes (it's a jungle!). Tina is a very responsive host (make sure you've got WhatsApp) and has filled the Nook with books and art to peruse (although we were there to dive, so we generally just fell into bed when we got home). All in all, we are glad we stayed at Artist's Nook, and we would stay there again if we ever returned to PD.

The Artists Nook is an ecclectic mix of comfortable relaxing boho beachy style. Perfect to settle in and enjoy the beautiful 4 mile beach, enjoy the pool and sun lounges and all the beautiful books and quirky art. I stayed six weeks and loved every minute, particularly the lovely patio and garden and all the fabulous restaurants nearby.

Staying at the Artists Nook was a wonderful experience! Full of personality plus all the comforts from home! Kids adored the pool and the gardens (which were abundant with local widelife) just highlighted the fact that we were in a tropical paradise! The owners are generous with their communication and are glad to share all about what Port Douglas has to offer! We loved our stay! ❤️?

The Artist's Nook is a little oasis, set amongst gorgeous trees and plants which help you feel you have escaped the hustle and bustle and are really on holiday. The birds take you up in the morning as the sun streams in. The house itself is an eclectic mix of beautiful pieces of art and books with enough space for every family member to find a spot to relax and take in the boho beach vibe. The house provides everything you need - towels, beach towels, cleaning products, a kitted out kitchen, tea, coffee, sugar, condiments which made our stay so easy. Tina was a wonderful communicator, checking in regularly before and during our stay. Next time we will stay longer than 5 nights as we were just getting into the holiday rhythm, exploring the area and region from the perfect base. We walked to the beach and into town every day which are both easily accessible on foot. We didn't use the pool as it was a bit too cold this time of year but can imagine it would be the perfect spot to cool off in hotter months. Thank you Tina. You really have thought of everything.

We had a fabulous stay in this house. It was full of interesting art and books and objects. It was relaxing and comfortable and equipped with everything you could need plus the owners provided a very informative information booklet. It’s in a handy position to town and beach and golf and we hired bicycles which was great fun. We would recommend Artists Houses for a fun, homely and quirky stay in paradise.

We stayed here for a week in Sept 2017. It is a thoroughly relaxing place. There is everything you need in the kitchen. We had the pool to ourselves whenever we wanted, so the kids were happy. The kids got a bit tired with the 10min walk to town however we thought it was much needed after all the food and relaxation. We liked that the owners stay in touch with you to make sure everything is going well.
