**Your safety matters. Exterior camera are placed near the front and back doors but do not look into any interior spaces or onto the deck.
**We highly recommend getting trip insurance to protect your investment.
Internet- because of our rural location we only have access to DSL WiFi, and maintain the fastest service available. The speed is usually 5-10 mbps but at times can drop below 3. In general you should have no problem with streaming services such as Netflix, working from the home, or Zoom meetings. The connection however can be inconsistent, and therefore at times frustrating. During those times it is best to have only one user online with no streaming tv. Also you may be able to use your cell phone as a hotspot to boost your speed.
We do not allow Door Dash, Shipt, Instacart, or other delivery services to access the property, so please do not give them any gate codes. You are however welcome to meet them at the main front entrance. This is because in the past they get confused, lost, and deliver to the wrong homes. We have had instances of spoiled groceries and in the worse case scenarios, broken gates. The gates cost upwards of $500 to repair. **Please know that you will be responsible and assessed for any gate damage by you or your party, or any visitors.
My family (5 adults) spent a week at the Pink House for Christmas 2023. This is our third time staying at this home and as usual, we had a great time! Lots of space in the home and outside. Great place to getaway!!
The views are great!! Far enough away from the city for quiet relaxation yet close enough to get anything that you need for supplies.
We’ve stayed at many different country-like rentals over the years and this is probably our favorite. Picturesque, bucolic, quiet, charming, spacious…all perfect words for both the house and the property. You feel like you’re hours away from the city but you’re only 10-15 minutes from any store or restaurant you’d ever need. The house is well stocked with any item you may need and lots of seating and relaxing spaces to unwind. One bedroom and bathroom are downstairs, perfect for someone who wants to avoid stairs. None of us wanted to leave, and I’m pretty sure we’ll be coming back next year!
The house was beautiful. I had out of town guests staying for my wedding and they loved it!
Was perfect for all 11 of us. Home was warm, inviting, spacious & charming. Wonderful memories were made while there! A return visit is hopefully on the horizon.
We enjoyed our stay at The Lake Cottage. The interior of the home is beautiful. Passing through 2 gates and narrow paved road makes you think you are far removed from everything. But just a few minutes outside the front gate are neighborhoods, shopping and restaurants. I'd love to see more done with the expansive property to encourage time outside. Maybe a fire pit or lawn games. I hope the owner will make the large back deck match the interior of the house. The wood is old, handrails are shaky, and furniture has seen better days, but there is a great deal of potential. The owners are super responsive and helpful. Overall a great stay!
This is the second time we have stayed at this property and it is probably one of our favorite VRBOs. Always good communication and such a beautiful home!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful and so peaceful. The back deck was the most comfortable place to sit, we did for hours. It’s definitely an old farmhouse and in need of some updates, there are squirrels in the roof that can be noisy and maybe could use a good deep clean. But it’s a farm and that is kind of what makes it so great.
I wanted to spend my birthday with my family and found this old Florida home. It was just right. Very large with lots of space inside and out and very clean. It was great to drive the short distance to downtown Lakeland while staying in such a beautiful country setting.
It was nice, comfortable and cozy, lot of lands and nice relaxing view
