Welcome to The Peacock House – Downtown Charm, a character-filled 1935 home nestled in the heart of Ocala’s Downtown Historic District. With high ceilings, original floors, vintage windows, doors, and hardware, this home offers a warm, nostalgic atmosphere that feels both timeless and inviting.

Step outside and you’re just a short stroll to the Downtown Square, local shops, restaurants, bars, and the Farmer’s Market. Take a leisurely walking tour of the surrounding historic homes along picturesque, tree-lined streets (map provided by HOPS)—it’s one of the most beautiful ways to experience Ocala.

Despite the central location, you’re also just ≈12 minutes to Silver Springs State Park and ≈18 minutes to WEC, making this a rare blend of charm, walkability, and convenience.

This is a home with soul—thoughtfully prepared, easy to settle into, and perfect for both relaxing stays and exploring everything the area has to offer.

The space

The Peacock House blends historic character with comfortable, livable spaces designed for gathering, unwinding, and feeling at home.

The living room features a decorative tiled fireplace original to the home—an eye-catching focal point that adds to the home’s vintage charm—along with a 65” TV for cozy movie nights.

The dining room offers farmhouse-style seating with a touch of elegance, creating the perfect setting for shared meals, morning coffee, or a relaxed evening in.

The kitchen is efficient and thoughtfully equipped with an electric oven and stovetop, microwave, toaster, Keurig, drip coffee maker, and French press. A selection of K-cups, sugar, and spices are provided, and there’s ample pantry space in both the kitchen and laundry room for your groceries. (Please note: there is no dishwasher.)

Sleeping arrangements include:
• A spacious primary bedroom with a comfortable king bed and 43” TV
• A second bedroom with a cozy queen bed
• A dedicated office at the front of the home featuring a twin daybed—ideal for an additional guest or a quiet retreat

For families traveling with little ones, we’ve included a pack and play, bassinet, high chair, and umbrella stroller to make your stay easier.

To help you unwind or enjoy time together, you’ll also find yoga mats and blocks, a selection of games, and books for both adults and kids.

Step outside to a side patio area with a charcoal grill and outdoor dining table for four—perfect for casual meals or enjoying a warm Florida evening. While the yard is not fenced, the neighborhood is very walkable and ideal for dogs.

Up to two animals are welcome. $40 per pet, per stay

The overall vibe is relaxed, slightly eclectic, and full of charm—where old Florida character meets modern comfort.
