Fairbanks, Alaska
The Park Bus is a retired Denali National Park shuttle. It has been extensively remodeled to provide a comfortable and memorable place to stay while enjoying your Alaskan adventure. Admire the panoramic view of the night sky while comfortably seated inside. Conveniently located between Fairbanks and the Chena Hot Springs Resort. The Park Bus is a unique Alaskan experience you will never forget.
Live like an Alaskan!!! This bus is equipped with an outhouse and a water dispenser. Showers are available for purchase down the road. The kitchen is fully stocked and we provide our farm fresh eggs, honey from our bees, bread, tea, and coffee.
The sleeping arrangements are a full size bed, a fold down couch for two, and a bench that can accommodate one more person, for a total of 5.
On our Alaskan homestead, the bus is located on a knoll with a open view to the north, which is perfect for aurora viewing. There is a fire pit with some fire wood provided, more available for purchase. There are foot trails on the property for snowshoeing, skiing, and berry picking. Private but easily accessible.

This has been the best way we could have imagined to spend the last 2 days of our vacation to Alaska! We have relaxed, refreshed and enjoyed every peaceful moment!
We loved our 2 night stay in the schoolie! The kitchen was very useful and we made a few meals there. I do recommend bringing house shoes to walk around in as the floors are cold during the winter. The bed is one of the most comfortable beds we have ever stayed while vacationing. The decor, bedding, snacks, all were given great thought and much appreciated!
We stayed here our last day in alaska. The bus is awesome.
Husband and I stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon. Our biggest regret was not staying for much longer!! The bus was fantastic and a once in a lifetime experience! Will stay again!!! Thank you for sharing this amazing place with us!
We loved the bus! The bed was extremely comfortable (I am super picky because of arthritis in my back and hips and woke up with no pain). The bus was very clean and had everything we needed, including bug spray. The outhouse was not unpleasant, other than the mosquitoes. There is no running water, but plenty of water was provided via a dispenser over a sink that we used to wash our hands and faces and brush our teeth. The only downside was visiting in the summer it is light 22 hours a day, but we bought eye masks before we went and we’re glad we had them. The curtains did not block out much light. Overall it was a fun adventure and we are glad we stayed at The Park Bus. Also they have cute souvenirs for sale so take some cash with you.
Enjoyed this quaint and cozy bus with our two grandchildren ages 16 and 17. They loved getting a true Alaskan experience! S’mores by the campfire, card games and out house included! Extra touches by the host was a pleasant surprise. The northern lights even made an appearance! Wish we had had more time to spend here!
The bus is a masterpiece. We were very comfortable and were delighted by all of the details. We were also blessed enough to see the northern lights while we were there. Highly recommended!
Our first trip to Alaska and we hopped around from Fairbanks to Anchorage over a course of 11 days. Traveling with husband and 2 adult (college) kids. This is the only place we stayed that all 4 of us fell in love with. Allison is the perfect host. They have outdone themselves, and I feel we are so blessed to have experienced staying here. I wish we stayed longer. The beds (super comfortable). Warm and cozy inside with temps below zero outside and a Fairbanks winters worth of snow surrounding us. Decorated adorably. Very clean. Loved the fresh bread, eggs, local honey, snacks, treats, coffee, tea, breakfast, and then some. Everything was well stocked. We felt incredibly special staying there. We came to the area in hopes to see the Northern Lights and we were not disappointed. Night one, I set my alarm for every hour on the hour and not much before midnight I look out the windows (from the warmth of our bed), and lo and behold, the emerald sky. My outburst of excitement was enough to wake up my family, and we all experienced together something we will forever cherish. I get chill bumps just thinking about it. My only regret is we did not have time to use the firepit. If I had to do it again, we would have skipped going to the Hot Springs (not for us) and spent more time here! As far as an outhouse goes, this was as cool as any can get. Well-lit for nighttime trips. Outhouses are smelly, plug your nose and get over it. Don't let it deter you from staying here.
My mom & I really enjoyed our stay here. It was equipped with free 1/2 dozen eggs, bread, butter, jam, coffee & tea. Board games included too! We only stayed 1 night, but I would have stayed more. Definitely better than a hotel.
This was such a cool little slice of heaven! The renovations were so cute and cozy, and the bed was so comfortable! We had a blast next to the fire waiting for the northern lights. Such a cool spot, would absolutely come back. Thank you!
Just loved it ! It was so beautifully done, so clean and just so ace !
My wife and I and our 2 sons stayed one night in the bus and it was wonderful! The bed was so comfy and cozy and our sons had no complaints about the bench and sofa, either. Waking up in the morning to that view was something we won't forget. You can tell that bus was renovated with a lot of thought and a lot of love. Absolutely beautiful. The next time we go to Fairbanks, we' definitely want to stay at the bus again, and for longer than just one night!
