Stayed Sep 16, 2022Overall we were pleased with the property. The walk to the gravel bar was not very nice. You walk through a swampy marsh on wood plank boards that needs work (boards loose/broken) and the grass was really high walking through the boarded path. Once you got the gravel bar it was nice. Outside around the house needs some work to look more pleasing (old hood laying in the driveway/bit of trash laying around). There is no area for a fire at night so I would suggest the owner build a small burn pit. The master bedroom door does not shut all the way, The second bedroom has no door for privacy. The bathroom needs a curtain because the people on the deck can see right in. The deck is nice outside the loft we spent a lot of time on there in the evening. The loft was very clean inside and cute, They had everything we needed for our stay. Overall, we were happy with our stay and as I said the loft was really cute inside. Property owner should take some time to make things a bit cleaner outside and possible build an area for fires at night. The owner was also very responsive to my questions prior to our stay. The internet and cell phone service at the property is really good.

Stayed Sep 12, 2025RUN!! Rent somewhere else because this property is so over priced it’s almost funny. First off the “queen bed” is a full. The a/c in the main bedroom didn’t work so it was 80 degrees at night. The shower stall is so small you can barely turn around in. The guest bedroom had see thru curtains so everyone was awake at 6am. The back patio wood is rough and will give you splinters. The back patio door has a piece of sharp metal sticking out that could cut someone. We will be looking to get a refund and their lucky no one got cut on the door and sued.

Stayed Jul 31, 2025Loft is in some dire need of TLC and repairs. Way overpriced for what you get. Door leading out to deck was falling apart, wouldn’t shut and was danger to all. I was scared my grandchildren were going to get cut. The broken metal sticking out did cut my daughter’s leg. The deck was old and weathered obviously not been maintained in years, so kids had to wear shoes out there cause boards were splintering. The rest of place was old with cheap- cheap furnishings. Shower stall was absolutely pathetic. You could barely turn around in it and make sure no one is on deck cause they are going to see you business, no window curtain. Shower stall was old and disgusting. Bedroom door was broke. The top hinge and frame was broke at some time and the barn door on other room was not functioning properly. I read the reviews and seen a few of these problems but from years ago, thinking owners would repair by now. Nope, evidently they do not maintain their properties! We have 4x4 drive and ATV and that’s only way you are getting to the river cause it’s way to long of walk otherwise. Good place on river that’s the only perk but there’s other places on river nicer and closer. So if your twenty something and just want to party and not shower go ahead and book cause you sure can’t tear anything up, but if your adult and want to relax after a long day on the river this place is not it. Side note, you got about 2 miles at least of dusty, rocky road and not the best maintained in spots.

Stayed May 30, 2025Too much rain in the area and the river was high, fast and dangerous. The sand bar has been washed away by the floods so there was no place to hang out by the river. Of course….not the owners fault. The deck had not been cleaned which is where we wanted to hang out so I swept and wiped down the deck. The back door squeezed so loud I sprayed it with vegetable oil, which helped. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean. Overall, managed to have a fun vacation and the space was comfortable enough. Does seem to need some TLC.

Stayed Aug 7, 2024Fantastic property and the gravel bar was amazing to relax on. Interior was nice and perfect size for a family with up to 4 kids, the bunk beds are easily full size mattresses! Amenities were nice and sheets and towels definitely clean. The back deck is amazing for morning coffee or peaceful evening and having the smart TVs made for great evening activities since we brought our switch. 10/10 would definitely stay here again!

Stayed Jul 1, 2024We had a great time and other than there was no broom so hard to sweep the sand from the beach, but that was very minor. Overall it was clean and we all enjoyed it! Will come back again next year!

Stayed Jun 2, 2023All of the beds had clumps of dirt, sand, and what looked like dog hair in the sheets. The dishes were filthy and thrown in the cabinet. The trash cans had garbage in them. We ran out of dish soap. There were no extra trash bags in the premises. Directions to the property could have been more clear. For the price we paid for two nights and the condition of the home when we arrived, we were very disappointed.

Stayed Nov 18, 2022The location was great! A beautiful view of the river and the sun set over the river. Nice to watch off of the deck. It was located a little off the beaten path but that is just what we wanted. The kitchen is not well equipped. It has only 2 scratched up teflon pans and few other utensils but it did have an insta-pot and a nice grill. No ice trays in freezer! There were lots of lights over the kitchen counter but none of them worked. No nightlights either. There were some dirty utensils in the silverware drawer so we washed everything before using. The towels were badly stained but I read that in another review so brought my own just in case. Beds were comfy and shower/bathroom was good. There is a 17-step walkup (pictured in listing) and the parking/yard is very steep so if someone is walking/stair-climbing challenged, I would not recommend it. I would definitely stay here again knowing that it truly is a river cabin and not a luxury get-away. Just know what you are getting before you go. The location makes it all worthwhile.

Stayed Oct 21, 2022We liked staying here, though for the same price in the same area with similar views, there are other, better options. The big plus is the view and access to the Current River, which can be seen from the deck. Otherwise, the place is above a garage, meaning you need to lug everything up those steps. The rooms were clean, but the oven had some sort of residue in it that made it smoke the place up, even after we tried to clean it. There were also no sponges, scrub brushes, etc. to wash dishes with.

Stayed Jul 7, 2022The loft was clean, the owners were easy to communicate with, and answered questions promptly. However, we felt as though the pictures and description of the property were extremely misleading. While the deck was probably our favorite part of the place, the river is barely even visible though the trees. The river access/gravel bar is NOT at the bottom of the hill as you would expect from the photos shown. We had to travel down the hill, turn on a sand road that looked like it was meant for an ATV for .3 of a mile to get to the access. If you have children and/or a cooler, you should probably drive. But unless you have 4-wheel or AWD, I wouldn’t risk it. Also, please note that you will be traveling down gravel roads for nearly 5 miles to get to the property which we found to be rather inconvenient. However, we wouldn’t have been as bothered by it if we had felt as though we were actually on the river.
