From monuments and museums to modern art and dining, Washington, D.C. is where past and present (and politics) meet. And while the nation’s capital is a popular destination for its historical significance and political landmarks, you don’t have to be a political junkie to enjoy the District. There is plenty of contemporary culture, shopping, and sightseeing to be found tucked between all that neoclassical architecture. Our 2 bedroom and 2 1/2 bath newly built, luxury rowhouse house is the perfect place to stay while basking in the glory of all the places the District has to offer. Boasting 1,600 sq. feet, this historic rowhouse is the perfect place to stay to get the real feel for being 5 minutes away from the Capitol while paying a fraction of the price you’d pay at a hotel in this area.

NOTE: this can be sub-rented with our lower unit.

Our cozy retreat is in an ideal location, not only being 5 minutes away from the Capitol, but;
- half a block from Union Station
- A minute walk to Ebenezer’s Coffee Shop and Union Kitchen located on our block
- A 6-minute drive to The Mall (The easily-walkable, 2-mile long National Mall is home to the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, World War II Memorial, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, among others. The U.S. Capitol, easily recognizable by its iconic dome, sits at the eastern end of the Mall, with the White House is to the north)
- A less than 10-minute drive to Union Market, full of tons of places to eat
- A less than 18-minute drive from Georgetown which has tons of clothing stores, restaurants, etc. Adjacent to Washington Harbor and C&O Canal National Historic Park
- For our guests visiting in the Spring, you’re in for a treat… an unforgettable experience, you’ll get to see the three-week-long cherry blossom festival

We have an open floor plan with Italian furniture, Travertine golden walls, French doors, an open concept kitchen, and unique décor. Aside from our two king bedrooms upstairs, there are two queen-sized sofa beds that will allow you to accommodate a maximum of 6 guests. Upstairs we have two very spacious closets, a bathroom with a stand-up shower, and a bathroom with a tub. Our many windows both upstairs and downstairs serve for natural light all around the house throughout the day.

Here are the closest convenience stores around us:

    Wonderful comfortable two bedroom and three and half bath. Perfect for four people but could occupy six if needed. One block from Union Square to take the subway with many fast food places to eat. Place was immaculately clean. Host was great to communicate with and responded to any questions that we had. We will certainly stay here again in the future

    The property was wonderful. Clean and comfortable. It was within walking distance to most museums and sites in Washington DC. We found a little market 2 blocks away and a wonderful Italian restaurant nearby. Having Union Station close was nice with its restaurants. We felt safe wherever we walked. Our host was always available to answer any questions we had.

    Place was as advertised. Great location! We parked at Union Station ( 5 minute walk ) and either walked or used the Metro ( subway ) during our entire stay to avoid DC traffic. Convenient coffee shops and snack/drink stores on both ends of the same block. Liquor stores 2 blocks away to the north & south, and plenty of restaurants within a 15 -20 minute walk. A 15 minute walk to the Capitol building. Spacious & clean rooms. Very nice neighborhood too ( which surprised me as a rural PA resident leary of big city crime ). Very happy with this spot!

    We hesitated a lot when we gave the score 3 out of 5 because the apartment is in a good location and is a spacious and large apartment, but there was a feeling of saving on the equipment and there was no feeling of generosity.For example, the kitchen is equipped with a minimum of equipment (and the dishes that do exist are low-quality and made of plastic), there are not enough dishes, and everything is measured exactly for 3 people.A can opener that does not open cans, an old dishwashing sponge that was used a lot before we arrived, there was a minimum of detergent for the dishwasher and only after two days did the landlady send a box of capsules through Amazon.There was only one roll of paper (bounty) in the kitchen and after talking to the landlady it turned out that there were more rolls in the storage room under the stairs (I don't think it's the job of tenants to search in dark corners for the complete set of equipment, especially since there are many cabinets in the kitchen, most of which were empty).The dining area with very cheap chairs, and in a dangerous state to sit on, the legs of the chairs are unstable and about to break.We received (for one week of staying) one bath towel, one medium towel and one small one for each guest.The detergent for the washing machine was barely enough for 4 loads of laundry.The bedrooms are without chests or shelves to put the clothes on, so we had to leave the clothes in the suitcases on the floor.

    I really liked the unit and the location. It was spacious, close to Union Station for multi-day parking, and an easy walk to the Capitol area. Also big plus is having Union Kitchen steps away. The communication with the property managers was very good. But....we did have bugs (ants and roaches) in the kitchen a few times and the master bed needs to be replaced. The back porch was just weeds and roaches; it would be nice if it were kept up with a little table out there. Just some TLC suggestions.

    If you want to visit the Smithsonian, this is a great location. We arrived by train and walked two blocks to the townhome. Very clean. It was a 10-minute walk to the capital.Be prepared in extreme temperatures. We visited when it was very cold (20s), and with the thermostat turned up, the downstairs was in the low 60s. Definitely ask for more blankets to cozy under if you are downstairs. Upstairs was fine. (There may be the opposite problem during a heat wave.) We stayed out most of the day, so it worked for us.All in all a great trip and a great place to stay.

    The property location could not have been any better for our trip. The townhome was great for our group. The only few things that were difficult were..1) the street parking availability was hit and miss, 2) the Heat in the lower areas was IMPOSSIBLE to warm (LR and kitchen were freezing cold) while the upstairs was way too warm, and 3) the appointments of the home were bare minimum (needs rugs or something for ALL that cold tile), possibly provide some paper towels or kitchen towels, and the dining chairs for a big person were not the most sturdy. But we made it work. We truly enjoyed our stay in DC.

    The host is thoughtful and promptly responded to all questions and inquiries. The home’s interior was clean and sparsely furnished. The property is located near a coffee shop and grocery store. We found it easy to get around from this location to most DC attractions.
