The house was well-equipped, the beds were comfortable, and it was a fun treat to see the deer and wild turkeys wander by throughout the day. The close proximity to the beach was a nice bonus. We were within 20-30 minutes driving of wherever we wanted to go on the north fork.
Peaceful, relaxing, serene escape from the daily grind of the City. Short five minute walk to a private beach which you had to yourself or could count the occupants on one hand. (I love shoulder seasons to escape the din & noise of the Summer crowds). The home was well kept, well stocked and had all the amenities for a comfortable stay. My coworkers & friends were able to kick back, relax, enjoy each other’s company, grill, tan, sip coffee on the deck and/or beach, read, even work and basically just have a good time. Highly recommend for location (furthest point on northeast of Long Island). My favorite: Sunset @ Orient State Park overlooking Long Island Sound.
This house was perfect! Lots of space for our family and the location is wonderful. The house is only about 2 blocks from the Long Island Sound and very close to a large state park. The owner were very responsive.
Excellent. Everything was as advertised. The two level air conditioning was great during the relatively warm outside temperatures. The backyard with a tire swing keep the 2 year old busy. Loved the private beach access.
We had a lovely stay at the house. We would love to plan another stay.
The house was very clean. The beds were great. Kids loved the backyard. Lots of deer and turkey sightings! We enjoyed the very short walk to the beach.
Very quiet, pretty location, 2 minute walk from the beach. Deer, wild turkeys pass through the neighborhood routinely. Everything was as described. the house is comfortable and well equipped for a family with children, or, as in my case, with adult children. We all had a really good time
Really enjoyed our stay in Orient. Property is just as advertised and Margie is great to work with. Hope to come back again soon!
While my family usually goes to a NJ, Delaware or NC beach, we decided to try Long Island this year. The sound, which was about two blocks from our rental, was beautiful, quiet with lots and lots of fabulous sea rocks. We're used to a more sandy beach and this one was fairly difficult to walk on but it was gorgeous. The house was exactly as described and it was very clean, especially the bedrooms which we certainly appreciated during these times of Covid. It was fun seeing all the deer and wild turkeys walking around ... kept our dogs busy with their constantly looking outside. We went to the sea park, a very short drive from our rental, which required a $10 charge per car. However, we were there when Hurricane Henri was coming in a day or two and the beach was closed ten minutes after we got there. That was very disappointing! Good news about Hurricane Henri: I was in contact with Margie quite a bit to find out what we should do to prepare for the storm. She was very helpful and in constant contact with us. Good news is that Henri turned out just to be a very rainy and windy day with no house/property damage and no electrical outages. All in all, it was a very pleasant, family vacation and if we can let go of the difficult trip around NYC (we live in PA), we will book again with Margie in Orient. Thanks!
My family and I had a great vacation in Orient! The house was located at the tip of Long Island with the sound down the beach. Nature was all around for the viewing and a great time was had by all. Margie was a great host and handled whatever questions and issues we had! We hope to come back again in the future!
