The Hideaway: Lakefront Living At Its Best, Family/Pet Friendly with WiFi

It was absolutely perfect! Loved being on the lake, the dock that my brother was able to drive his boat up to, and the sandy beach! And the dogs loved it too! The place was perfect, very clean, host was very responsive. It was even better than the photos. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to come back!

This home truly is a gem for those looking for a quiet getaway right on the water. The best things about this home have been the views, ample seating and spacious areas for gathering, and a beautiful area all around. The house was clean upon arrival. The perks have been the kayaks that are available for use, on-site, laundry, and an ice machine in the kitchen.The advice that I would give to make improvements would be to offer cleaning supplies like Windex spray and Clorox wipes so that we could keep the house tidy. Also, only four dishwasher tabs and two trash bags were provided. If renters should bring these things, it would be helpful to note that. I also would recommend that the owner get baking sheets for the kitchen.To sum up our stay, we agree that this home is worth saving in your search. Everyone in our party from 6 years, to teens, to adults enjoyed their stay!

I booked this for our youngest son’s wedding and couldn’t have been happier. Beautiful setting - we watched deer while eating breakfast. There were 4 bedrooms - each with their own bathroom which was perfect for my other sons and their wives. My sons loved the ability to fish in the downtime and it was large enough that we could enjoy eating and spending time together. We enjoyed our stay!

The house and the lake were both beautiful and we enjoyed it very much. My only complaint is that the mattress in the master bedroom on the side closest to the door is well slept in. Also, at 7:29 this morning the smoke alarm in the master bedroom started going off for no apparent reason And resolved itself within five minutes. That was just enough time to wake everyone in the house, including the baby.

It was a great place for friends to unite to celebrate a birthday!

The house is so spacious and the lake is spetacular! Fantastic location if you want a quiet lakeside vacation with a beach front and terrific dock!

We love coming to Lake Norman and staying at the Hideaway! The house has everything we need. It’s very comfortable and the proximity to the lake and grocery stores make it an ideal location.

Perfect for our family of 10 with 4 small ones -sitting areas, dock, lake, sand to play in, views, back porch, outside eating areas, dog friendly. A little outdated but the location is awesome! Bring necessities like shampoo, soap, beach towels... Kitchen well supplied other than detergent and trash bags. Highly recommend if you have children!

We all look forward to our vacation at the Hideaway every year. Always clean & stocked with everything we need. The location is what sells it for me. Quite cove but big enough to ride the jet skis without going into the main channel. Beach & dock for the kids to swim & have a great time. Thanks for helping to make the memories Chuck. Would like to rent this again for a several days this summer. We enjoyed our stay and house is big enough to enjoy with several families.

BETTER THAN THE PICTURES, QUIET, RESTFUL, BEAUTIFUL, HIGHLY RECOMMEND

We were pleased with everything during our stay at the Hideaway. The pictures on VRBO did not do this place justice. The rooms were spacious and the many sitting areas allowed us to enjoy peaceful times - together and separately. The view of the lake was awesome and the calm cove that the house is on was wonderful. We enjoyed our stay!

The stay was a good one. However, there a few issues that came about that we had to endure. After speaking with Charles regarding the issue he moved fast as he could to resolve the problem. In addition, he went above and beyond to make things better. I would visit the lake house a again

Well appointed home. Comfortable beds. Beautiful well maintained dock perfect for relaxing and viewing the lake. Fun lake toys (pedal boat, kayaks). Deer visited daily. Completely restful days on the lake.

The cabin smelled and we couldn’t get rid of it Cause headaches for the four of us. VERY OUT DATED. A call was made to help with the heat and that was a quick response. When asked about the offensive smell, there was not an answer other than the cabin needs to be opened up, but there were no screens in the windows. Very disappointing! We will not recommend this cabin or stay again.

Our stay started out as a quick weekend to celebrate two birthdays. Ended up we were there for a week. My daughter fell and required surgery on her leg. My husband and I were able to take time off from work to help her for the first week after surgery-we live near DC. We kept changing our requested dates since we did not know what our daughter would need. It took a bit but we were able to get her outside so she could heal- mind, body and soul. We were happy to see a bedroom on the main floor as she either was using a walker or a wheelchair-she was not able to put weight on her broken leg. Harder to get to the dock area as there were many levels. But we did it. The house is supplied with just about everything you would need. Remember to bring shampoo and bath soap.

Everything was lovely. I will be contacting you again to book again. The only problem we had was batteries in remotes were bad

This was the perfect stay for our youth mentoring while visiting Charlotte. Rooms and beds were very accommodating to our sleeping policies and guidelines. The lake added a relaxing atmosphere. We will save this site for future visits!

We loved this house on the lake. We could spend all day in the backyard, just looking at the water. Very beautiful neighborhood to walk around. So peaceful and quiet. Thank you for sharing this little piece of paradise with us.

It was so special!! My grandsons loved staying in the kids nautical decorated bedroom…real hit! Plenty of gathering spaces. Did a bonfire and enjoyed s'mores.We took long walks everyday through the neighborhood and met nice neighbors and enjoyed the deer population! Would love to go back next at the same time !

Older home in a beautiful view& location. Very quiet with deer strolling by. Better to visit in the summer.

Beuatiful house on the lake with great views. House was huge with the 70's feel. Clean with all the room needed and then some. Great getaway for our cancer retreat. ONLY thing I would say is the faucets and showers need to be replaced or fixed. Leaking faucets and a shower didnt work. For this beautiful house and view, please update....would love to come back next year. Thank you for your help getting in.

We were there for a wedding nearby and the house suited us just fine. The 4 bathrooms was great as we were all getting ready at the same time. The house was a bit outdated but again had what was needed. My family enjoyed the dock, paddleboat and kyaks. My grandson built sandcastles on the beach. We had to rake/brush off leaves, but it is fall.

Perfect location and “the hideaway” had lots of space and places for group gatherings or places for solitude. Property was just as advertised and the location on Lake Norman was excellent - close to the main channel but in a secluded inlet. Rented a pontoon boat which added to the appreciation for the lake. A great time was had by all!!!

4 buddies on a golf trip. The view of the lake, along with the firepit, made relaxing easy, to say the least. The property was exactly as advertised with plenty of amenities provided. If I return to the greater Charlotte area, this is where I will be staying.

This is an older lake home that is spacious, cool, and clean. All amenities are there including an ice maker that makes little squares of ice ... so nice! The dock is one of the best aspects of the property. It's long and the platform at the end has plenty of room. The three of us spent most of every day from breakfast to sunset on the dock. We will be returning.

The photos dont do justice. The house is really large. Kitchen has everything you need, and then some. Older people being able to walk into the lake, via private beach, was awesome. My family of 7 siblings, and some spouces. Had a fabulous reunion.

This home is tucked away and has many beds, chairs, great dock with lighted walk way. The flat area of the beach and use of the kayaks and noodles made the trip easy since we had a short stay. Absolutely beautiful area.

We just spent our fourth family reunion at The Hideaway. It continues to be the best option for our large extended family on LKN.

We had a wonderful time at the house. It was so big and comfortable (for 3 adults and one 2 yo). The lake was lovely and warm. Super safe neighborhood. Deer around every morning. :)
