Stayed Sep 19, 2024We hadn’t stayed in the Catskills before, the cabin has some great pics on Expedia and it definitely was all that and more. Super communication from the host and very accomodating for our last minute request. The beds were very comfortable and there has been a lot of thought go into the set up of the house. It’s not a big house and you wont find any gold plated tap ware but it has everything you need and a great old record collection to boot. We will always fondly remember our time here and totally recommend staying at least a few days.

Stayed Dec 27, 2025We had a fantastic stay in Phoencia in Jay's cozy little house. Great location--we walked down and got pizza at Brios at the end of a long day and it was perfect. Jay was a super helpful host, the house was charming, and who can say no to playing vintage LPs and eating candy? Thanks so much!

Stayed Oct 10, 2025An outstanding Catskills getaway that is easily accessible. Located close to many of the top attractions: Woodstock, Overlook Mountain House, Hunter Mountain, mountain hikes, skiing and outdoor activities. The mid-century modern decor is great. Turntable and record collection was well appreciated. Sit in the back yard with a view of the mountains. Overall a comfy place and a great stay.

Stayed Aug 1, 2025Fantastic house centrally located in Phoenicia but, still nice and quiet. Great music vibe to the house which got us revved up for our concert at Bearsville theater Friday night. Loved that we were able to walk to Brio's, supermarket, and even to mass at St. Francis de Salle. We hiked Romer Mountain which is located on Lane Street a mile walk from the house and the Tan Bark Trail which is around the corner. Had a great time, will definitely be back.

Stayed Jul 4, 2025This house checked off all the boxes of what we wanted in a rental plus an added bonus! The beds were super comfortable, water pressure/ temperature in shower was perfect and location spot on within walking distance of the cutest town but still tucked away a bit from any street noise. The added bonus was the record player and decor of the house. Such great vibes! Took me back to my teenage years with putting the needle on the record and the sound was soooo good!! It was so fun coming back to the house after a day of exploring the Catskills where we could listen to cool tunes while enjoying yummy Brio's takeout dinner and desserts. The scenery of the nearby Esopus Creek is beautiful too! Thank you for the enjoyable experience!

Stayed Feb 25, 2025Check-in was simple and check-out was easier than most vrbo's. The mattress was fantastic and better than my own bed at home. Same with pillows. the home was spacious - enough room for me to do yoga in the living room. Short drive to Belleayre. We ate all our meals walking distance from the rental. Brios was great. Even though they are a pizzeria, the rest of their menu was excellent. We also walked to the Phoenicia steakhouse was excellent as well. I would stay here again.

Stayed Aug 16, 2024We really enjoyed our weekend jaunt to Catskill, NY. Friday, on our way to Catskill, we stopped at the Walkway over Hudson at Poughkeepsie, a nice 1.5-mile walk on a footbridge over the Hudson River. Then drove to New Paltz and had our lunch at Lola's Cafe at New Platz. Good IPA beer on the tap and good food. After lunch, we drove down to Belleayre in Catskill and took a scenic Gondola ride and a little hike on the top of the Belleayre Mountain. Around 7 pm, we got into our VRBO house. It is a cute house, with an equipped and well stocked kitchen, three flat screen TVs, good wireless, inviting living and dining space, and comfortable bedrooms. It has everything that you may need. Phoenicia's main street is a minute's walk, which has restaurants and a small grocery store. We walked down and had a Pizza dinner there. Saturday morning after breakfast, we strolled around the property and the main street, it is beautiful. You can see Catskill Mountains and little brooks and shops on the main street. Phoenicia is a little cute little town central to this region. We finished lunch with leftover pizza and drove down to the Catskill State Park at Livingston Manor. The drive was really scenic through the mountains. We hiked the Frick Pond loop trail. You walk by the side of a stream. Before calling it a day, we had our dinner at Peekamoose, an upscale Restaurant at Big Indian, NY. After checking out on Sunday, we visited Emerson Kaleidoscope, and Woodstock on our way.

Stayed Jul 5, 2024Phonecia is a great town for local shops, good food and hiking. People are kind and friendly. So, Jay’s place is a wonderful place to stay. From the amazing sound system and vinyl records to the thoughtful touches. He made sure everything was ready for our arrival. Plus, we could easily walk to town or nearby hiking trails. Highly recommend!
