Stayed Jul 26, 2025This was our third stay at The Haven at Bluffton. That alone should count as the best review. With full kitchens and dining areas on the 1st and 2nd levels, meals were a breeze for multiple families. Each kitchen is fully overstocked for meal prep and serving, and a dishwasher on each floor made cleanup a breeze too. There are lots of seating areas inside and outside to hang out on the deck, covered patio, dock, or side yard. The backyard is a great place for kids (and adults) to play; and for campfires and smores at night. Everyone enjoyed watching the boats in the channel…especially the Lake Express and occasional freighter. Harbourtowne Beach on Muskegon Lake is a short walk and provides a flat sandy beach and shallow water. Pere Marquette Beach on Lake Michigan is larger (and busier) with a very cool playground. Communication with the hosts, Kathy and Chuck, is quick and friendly.

Stayed Jul 12, 2025The location along the channel afforded beautiful views and a continuous boat parade. We were in close proximity to beaches as well as biking, hiking, and local eateries, breweries, etc.The home was the most well-equipped VRBO property we have ever stayed in (and we have stayed in a lot)! The property manager responded quickly and was exceedingly helpful with information to make our trip all we hoped it would be! Ages 1 - 62 had a wonderful week!

Stayed Jun 28, 2025Quite pleased with the overall layout of the house, especially with the outside decks. Plenty of room to spread out and sleeping arrangements were flexible. The two kitchens and depth of cooking utensils were most appreciated.

Stayed Jul 20, 2024Our family (six adults and four children under 9) enjoyed a return visit for another wonderful summer vacation at The Haven in Bluffton,. The home is spacious to easily accommodate our family groups. It was really nice having two kitchens, both fully stocked with all the dishware and cooking equipment needed. We brought paper plates and bowls for snacks and some meals to save on washing dishes. Other paper goods (towels, tissues, t.p.) were well stocked in closets throughout the house. The large grassy backyard was perfect for playing games and sitting around the fire to cook S'mores and tell stories. The kids enjoyed the family fishing derby from the deck. The dock was convenient for a one-day pontoon rental. We had four great days at the Harbour Towne Beach and one day at Pere Marquette Beach. Beach chairs are provided in a bin on the deck along the channel, though we brought some of our own. The provided collapsible beach wagon is helpful for hauling gear to the nearby beach. Some of us drove our cars this short distance, just for the convenience of hauling chairs, beach bags, inflatables, and lunch coolers. (We brought our own floats and rafts) Note: there is a parking fee for this lot and we all bought a season pass, which is also good for the Pere Marquette beach and visiting The Deck restaurant. Parking lot attendants are checking cars regularly at both areas. Our kids and grandkids all agree that this was a perfect place to enjoy our beach vacation!

Stayed Jun 29, 2024We had a wonderful time here for our annual trip to Michigan. The house was perfect for our four young boys, our parents, and sister and nephew. We loved watching all the boats and did lots of fishing on the deck and boardwalk. There was plenty of space in the house so that we didn't feel cramped and everything was extremely clean and organized. We appreciated the well stocked kitchens and bathrooms, and having a second kitchen and refrigerator was very convenient. The backyard was the perfect size for yard games and a campfire, and the sunsets were beautiful! The location is terrific and we made the short walk to the Muskegon Lake beach several times. The Pere Marquette beach was also fun with bigger waves! This was definitely at the top of our favorite vacation spots and we hope to come back!

Stayed Jul 22, 2023The Haven at Bluffton was the perfect place for our family of 13 (8 adults and 5 children - 2 yrs of age to 7). The house is beautiful, the location is fabulous, and there was plenty of rooms and space for everyone. Having 2 kitchens and 2 living rooms is a huge bonus, and the house is extremely well stocked with plenty of everything. We made the most of our time at the two very close beaches, fishing from the backyard patio/dock area, and enjoying all of the sitting places to watch the many boats, freighters, and cruise ships pass through the channel. We stayed at The Haven for a week and none of us were ready to leave. Giving The Haven at Bluffton a 5 star rating is an understatement -- the place (and the hosts) are fabulous!

Stayed Jul 8, 2023We had my wife and myself, two adult kids and their spouses, and two grandkids 5 and 2. Everyone had plenty of private space and there was lots of common area space. Two full kitchens was a bonus for the early risers. Kids loved fishing off the back yard dock (no-miss with worms) and the beach was only a very short walk away. We docked our rental boat on our lake day (super convenient to load and pick up passengers). We had a great time. Chuck and Kathy have an awesome property and are magnificent hosts!
