Stayed Dec 23, 2023The Glass House is a neat design. We wanted to love this place, and while we enjoyed our stay in La Fortuna, were ultimately disappointed by this property. 1. First, significant maintenance issues (note: text exchange with owner indicated we were the last to visit before she was to undertake a major refresh). Water leaking from under the kitchen sink, water leaking onto the bed from an air conditioning unit in the downstairs bedroom, toilet that wouldn't flush in the master, some of the lights not working, the front door not properly closing, foul odors from water intrusion issues). 2. VRBO advertises the home as air conditioned. Two bedrooms have air conditioning units (and downstairs bedroom unit had to be turned off when it started pouring water onto my son's bed). The kitchen, living room and other common areas do not have air conditioning. Temperatures in the 90s, combined with the greenhouse effect of the glass walls made all of the common areas entirely unusable during our stay. There is no way to sit comfortably in these areas or to even think about cooking in the kitchen. We had planned on doing some cooking and evening activities in the home and could not because of the extreme heat. 3. Neighborhood. The pictures make this property look isolated. It is not. Great views out the front as shown on VRBO. Not shown in the pictures are four other properties densely packed next to and behind it. Properties that were playing loud music late into every night.

Stayed Dec 20, 2018Tracy the property manager was very helpful and prompt. The excursions and restaurants she recommended were all very well run and the food at the resturant was very well prepared. The town of La Fortuna was well worth the drive. Great people and lots to do in the area
