The Garden Cottage – A Storybook Retreat in the North Georgia Mountains

I enjoyed my stay. The kitchen was fully stocked with anything you would need and a grill out back. Property was close to stores and places to eat. Perfect place to stay in the beautiful mountains.

This cottage was so perfect for my short stay in Clayton! It was the perfect size, everything was so clean, and it felt like staying at home while on vacation! I was visiting some family, and having the kitchen allowed me to make dinner for them! Overall, it was the best experience I've had in a short-term rental, and I'm so excited to stay again! Ronnie was incredibly kind and helpful, the perfect host!

Excellent location in Clayton

The property itself was really unique and neat. Every time you turned around you saw something neat or interesting! Not that this is a negative, but I will say that it's on the small side. Wouldn't recommend more than 3 adults. The owners were very communicative and prone in responses. When we return to Clayton again, we DEFINITELY will be using this property again!

Wonderful sitting out on the porch enjoying the beautiful garden with the birds and fountain. Very peaceful getaway. Can't wait to return. The owner was full of ideas for outings and my husband loved the brownies that were on the table when we arrived to greet us!

I loved everything about this place! It was so cute and cozy for my boyfriend and I. My favorite was the bathtub! Also appreciated the fact it was very clean and private. I would HIGHLY recommend this cottage to others!

Nice cottage

This was the perfect cozy cottage for our girls' trip!

The house we rented was very cozy. I liked that there were a lot of unique paintings on the walls, a lot of signs, and I also liked that it was in the center, very close to downtown.

The host was very helpful with things to do and places to eat. Could not have asked for a better host.

The cottage was so cute! We loved all the vintage decor! Felt like stepping back in time! Very close to antique shops, great food, and the foxfire museum! The house was a little smaller than we anticipated. We are all tall and XL and made it difficult to navigate around each other in the small rooms.

We went to Clayton to be close to some great hiking. Very cute cottage, 3 minute drive from Clayton proper. Close enough to walk but the main road lacked sidewalks near the cottage. It’s on a quiet side street. The cottage is as shown, lots of kitsch. The screened porch is secluded enough that it was lovely place to read a book.

If you like charm and nostalgia, this 1940's cottage is for you. On-street parking leads up several stone steps through a beautifully landscaped yard, giving a secluded feel despite being a convenient, one-minute drive to Clayton restaurants and shops (it's very close but not walkable). The home is very clean and comfortable with nice touches like a vintage fridge and farmhouse sink, screened-in porch, and huge main bathroom with a claw-foot soaking tub, barnwood walls, and chandelier. We didn't do much cooking being so close to Clayton, but the kitchen was well-stocked. We had a very nice three-night stay.

Cottage was very cozy and adorable. My only complaint was that it was close to a busy street and not as quiet as I would have preferred.

Be careful walking to town from this cottage! While the location is a walkable *distance* from Clayton shops and restaurants, the .3 miles closest to the house do NOT have a sidewalk, are on a bend where cars often speed through, is not very well lit at night, and have you walking on very small shoulders and through people's front yards. We did not feel very safe walking that portion of the otherwise very do-able trek. The inside of this cabin is exactly as pictured (adorable!) and the owners provide all the necessities for a nice stay. Do be sure to note that there is no dishwasher, and that only 1 of the 2 bathrooms has a shower (the other is tub only). But everything was clean, well-stocked, and comfy. The location was a great jumping off point to area hikes, and we certainly enjoyed a quick getaway in this rental!

Property was just as advertised, a very cute and cozy spot. My wife and I enjoyed the week we stayed here being so close to the city of Clayton, within walking distance. This is our second visit to Clayton…plenty of nice shops and good restaurants. Just down the road from the cottage is a very nice winery, Tiger Mountain Vineyards…worth the visit. All in all, the cottage is a comfy, convenient location for a couple’s getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Garden Cottage! It is super cute and unique with lots of character. It is very close to town for shopping and dinner! A short drive to many state parks, lakes, and adventures!

Everything you would want. Close to delightful downtown with restaurants and shops. Not far from Tallulah Gorge trails.

Very nice, relaxing time

My wife and i spent the weekend in this quiet, cozy cottage for our 25th anniversary. The cottage was just like the pictures, and the host was easy to communicate with. We had a great trip. Will definitely stay here again if in the area.

This is an amazing property. Loved the porch, loved looking at all the marvelous clever cottage chic. Everything worked. Such thoughtful touches for guests. The bad part? We had to leave!!! I’m coming back!!!

This little cottage was just beautiful! We stayed here for our 2 year anniversary and absolutely loved it. Being walking distance to downtown Clayton was a cool bonus that we took advantage of a couple of times. Even though the cottage is off of a sort of main road, it feels so peaceful and quiet inside, and I don't remember hearing cars. The decorations are feminine and sweet, and it feels like you're visiting someone's actual home. You can tell that everything hanging on the walls was chosen with care, and even the bathrooms were beautiful to be in! It was a perfect, romantic place for us to stay.

We can’t even begin to say how lovely this cottage was. So well decorated and cozy, and CLEAN. We had an incredible time during our stay and I can absolutely say we will be back. The location was perfection and Ronnie was so great at communicating. 10/10.

Nice and central

My daughter and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful garden cottage. It was perfect for a relaxing long weekend. The master bathroom was a dream come true. We enjoyed looking at all of the antiques and decor in the cottage.The screened porch was beautiful as well. The cottage was close to downtown for shopping and restaurants. It was also close to a number of waterfalls and other outdoor adventures. We would highly recommend this beautiful and charming cottage. Enjoyed a girls weekend at this quaint cottage retreat. Clean, cozy and the beds were very comfortable. Location was good, we were able to walk downtown and enjoy restaurants and shopping in Clayton.

It was a perfect cottage for travelers who love new places to stay. It was so comfortable and charming, so many perfect touches. We stayed in to enjoy the cottage and ventured out to do almost all on the suggested list posted in the living room. We took pics of interior design as it inspires for our own homes. Very fun and comfortable! Great location. Loved the drive to Tate City and cooking in with wine and a football game.

Fascinating collection of art and mountain artifacts in a mountain house. Bathrooms have been updated, and house has amenities galor: grill, porch with slide, coffee pot with Keurig, and central a/c. A lifetime of mountain crafts are all over the property

It was clean and decorated so uniquely country. We loved the warmth each room showed. The brownies waiting for us was such a nice touch. The binder with all the information was so helpful and thoughtful. We loved the screened in porch. The only little thing which could improve the stay is a better parking situation. Parking on the side of the road, with little space was the only thing we hoped could be better. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will definitely stay there again and tell our friends about it!

The cabin was even more impressive than the pictures, which I didn’t think was possible. The screened in porch was an excellent relaxing way to start and end each day. The location was just a few minutes from the charming town of Clayton. Couldn’t have found a better place to stay.

This was a truly sweet cottage setting, off the road but close enough to great Main Street restaurants and shops. The cottage was well-appointed with vintage charm. It had a terrific porch and beautiful, lush plantings on the exterior. We appreciated the delicious brownies from our hosts as well! It was a great location for short trips to the beautiful natural features and places to see nearby, including vineyards, potteries, and beautiful vistas. We're not hikers, but many trails, outdoor activities, and sports opportunities were available.

ABSOLUTELY dreamy. As soon as I visited the property on vbro. I had to visit. The lovely decor to EVERY last detail was perfect. So cozy and inviting. The cottage was the highlight of my trip. When we arrived some yummy brownies was a special added touch. . I want to come back for a girls weekend. So dreamy..
