Chatsworth, New South Wales
The Ferry house is an historic property right on the banks of the mighty Clarence River in the picturesque village of Chatsworth Island. Right next to a boat ramp, peaceful and quiet yet only 20 minutes to Yamba, Iluka and Maclean. Fishing, skiing, paddling, surfing, you can have it all.
The house has 2 bedrooms each with a queen bed, a double bed futon in the sunroom/sleep out. There's a wood heater for winter and a breezy deck and AC for summer.
Wonderful stay at the Ferry House came back home so relaxed. Beautiful sunsets, quaint cottage with lots of history and the town folk so friendly. Definitely check out the General Store/Cafe. Had a lovely bacon and egg roll and coffee. Loved to come back again.
Our second stay. We relaxed in the cosy house and on the deck but also took the short drive to the beaches. Great spot and great value at this time of year.
Such a lovely place to stay. Full of charm & history. Love reading on the deck and kayaking on the river.
Nice quiet location right on the river, great location for all the family. Could just chill by the river and throw in a line or go for a short drive and enjoy the beach Well equipped cottage, very clean and beds were quite comfortable
How can you summarise watching the sun set over the trees, river sounds lapping on the shore, whilst drinking a gin laying on the deck bed. Not far from services. A very peaceful, quiet space. The property manager was lovely and very helpful. A good choice for a family having space to be together and apart when rest is needed after a long day at the beach ⛱️
Lovely cottage on the north arm of the Clarence River at Chatsworth. Easy drives to the coat or back upriver. Great for a quiet holiday.
A couple day's away fishing & relaxing. The House was perfect, everything you would need for a longer holiday.
The absolutely best place to chill, it’s our home away from home. ♥️
Love sitting by the river by the fire Fishing was great, bream flatties, trevally, tailor, catfish. House was warm and cosywith a great view and old stove fire place. Friendly neighbours. Country feel with sugarcane close by.
We felt relaxed from the moment we arrived. Stayed 5 nights over Easter and hardly saw anyone about. The daybed is a great place to read or take a nap. We never sat inside, spent our time either by the river or on the deck. The stars light the sky at night and lovely sitting by the fire with a glass of wine. We caught alot of catfish, but also enough Bream and Flathead to keep us happy.
We loved our stay - the little cottage, the little quiet town, listening to the birds and the river, being able to holiday with our dog, throwing a line in almost off the back porch (which was also lovely) it was what we all needed. Cottage had everything we needed. We will be back, but for a longer stay next time.
Easy, enjoyable and accurate.
Loved it
Great house ,great position .Everything was as described in the booking .Not far from Harwood pub for a nice meal .Great for fishing enthusiast .
We love the Ferry House, we’ve holidayed here several times now and hopefully many more, the house is just lovely and has everything you need. Air con, fans and fabulous heating for the winter months. Looking forward to our next visit later this year. ?????????
Gorgeous spot, great value for money. The General Store does one of the great coffees around. The only downer was the fishing - plenty of action but only catfish and stingrays. The house was equipped with everything one could need in a home away.
Very relaxing and enjoyable. lovely views and a great place to fish. Would definitely come back again.
Very comfortable loved sitting on the verandah watching river Ann Kev and Tashi
Beautiful spot, friendly area, lovely historical home which was very welcoming. Only criticism was we didn't stay long enough. We will be planning a longer stay in the near future.
Great fishing getaway for myself and my son.
This cottage has everything you need, comfort, cleanliness, fabulous heating, everything in the kitchen you need and more, comfy beds always important, ok outside, camp fire, views over the river to die for, sunsets amazing, fishing fabulous, you really don’t have to get in your car, Chatsworth store makes the best coffee just a casual stroll, this is our second holiday and we will be back. Love it?♥️?♥️
The Ferry House, —- tranquil paradise. We cannot find the words to do justice to our magnificent 2 weeks in this relaxed setting. Beautiful isolation but close enough to take a short walk to pick up supplies and enjoy a coffee beside the mighty Clarence River. Our host Briony was something special. Across the road is long time local David, — there if you want a chat or just cast a cheery wave across the road,—- a wealth of knowledge to impart the history of The Ferry House and Chatsworth Island. Congratulations Briony,
Excellent location and hidden gem. Lovely host and easy communication and payment. Felt like a home away from home. Spectacular views and puppy friendly. Thank you so much. ?
