The Dog House, a convenient stylish 2BR townhouse in charming Old Town

The Dog House was the best VRBO I ever stayed in. I took my 14 year old to Washington DC for our first trip ever and we both loved coming back 'home' after busy touring days. Location is a lovely 15 minute walk from the heart of Old Town Alexandria. The place is really well-stocked with everything a visitor could need. The kitchen is thoughtfully outfitted with great dishware, pans, utensils, condiments and lots of food for prep. The beds upstairs are very comfortable. Bathroom is well-stocked with shampoos, soaps, etc and lots of towels. The washing machine and dryer were so handy to use upstairs. Every time I texted the owner, he called me back within minutes! When we return, I'll be staying here again. It was the perfect roost for seeing DC and we kind of fell in love with Alexandria too!

The Dog House was a perfect solution for my wife and I on a recent house hunting trip. Free and readily available parking was great. We enjoyed walks around Old Town. The house was well appointed and comfortable for up to four. Balducci’s market nearby was excellent.

We had a wonderful stay at the Dog House! The house is spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen and bathroom are well-stocked. The space was very clean. We loved sitting on the back patio in the afternoon. We were also just a 15 min walk from King Street, so we were able to get to restaurants and shops very easily. Joel was a very accommodating host and quick to respond. We would stay here again!

Great, great location in Alexandria. If you’re traveling with pets, the Dog House is an excellent choice. We had everything we needed and enjoyed our stay immensely!

Unique and comfortable Old Town House at great location! The house has been recently renovated and combines modern and original. It was perfect for me and my teens and our doodle was welcomed which was a big plus for us. The host is very responsive and house very well equipped with new appliances and washer/dryer. The little patio outside is sweet and would be lovely to enjoy in the warmer seasons (we were there in winter). Highly recommend and we plan to be back!

The home was cozy and very comfortable beds. It was well stocked with dishes and linens. The location was very convenient. Thank you for a very comfortable and lovely home.

The home was clean and organized with great furnishings. The backyard was a serene place for a quiet meal or having a cocktail. The walk to king street was only about seven blocks so access to restaurants was nearby. Great place to spend some time.

We were super happy with our stay at the Dog House.

We stayed at the doghouse for a family vacation. It was very clean, had everything we could need, and was located only a short trip into DC. Street parking was easy and always available.The host was easy to communicate with and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Check out was easy-take out trash and put the used towels in a basket! We will definitely book again if we are in the area!

The unit was as advertised, great location, parking is a little tricky but other that an absolute 5 star place to stay in Old Town.

We really enjoyed our stay in Old Town Alexandria! The house was very clean and complete with all the amenities we needed. Parking was easy to find and it was a quick bus ride to the metro to head into DC. Everyone had a great time!

The Dog House was great! This is the second year my friends and I stayed. It has everything you could need and more! We had a great girls weekend! We parked our cars right in front when we arrived on Friday and didn’t drive the whole weekend. We walked everywhere very close to shops and restaurants! Super clean and comfortable beds. Thank you!

We had a fantastic weekend stay at The Dog House. So conveniently located, clean, great appointments and cozy! Joel was reachable, but we didn't need anything while we were there. We live in the state, but opted to have a retreat space from our family and friends who were staying nearby at The Gaylord at the National Harbor. We were happy with our choice and the proximity to the commercial area, while being able to enjoy the quaint Old Alexandria neighborhood with all its charm. The bonus was being able to bring our pup along for the fun, too. We hate being away from him and usually have to make concessions with our rentals when considering bringing our dog along. The Dog House is one of those rare diamonds that checks all the boxes!We would absolutely stay here again!

House is in a super convenient location. House is super cute and has everything you need. Joel is a great host and responds quickly. Knocked off one star just for the neighbor. Out of owners control but neighbors decided to have an all out fight at 1 in the morning for over an hour. Again nothing the owner can control that is city living.

My yellow Lab and I spent a minth at the house and enjoyed it immensely. Well licated, well equiped, and a very pleasant jumping off point for adventures. Would gladly stay again.

We had a great time in Alexandria and DC. The house was very clean and not too far of a walk to King Street. The house worked just fine for the 5 of us (kids age 8 and 9). Alexandria is a cool town if you like history, shopping, and good food. The free trolley up and down King Street is a great plus.
