ELEVATION & CLIMATE: 10,152 ft. No A/C — nights run in the 40s-50s even in July. Plan your first 24 hours easy.

Guest Access:

You have the full home and the fenced yard to yourself. No shared hallways, no lobby, no front desk — it's a stand-alone Victorian. Arrival instructions, door code, WiFi password, and a Leadville guidebook are emailed before your stay.

The Neighborhood:

The Depot House sits in downtown Leadville's historic Victorian grid — 10,152 feet elevation, a five-minute walk from Harrison Avenue, two blocks from the Mineral Belt Trail, and one block downhill from the Leadville Colorado & Southern Railroad heritage depot.

DOWNTOWN (walking distance):

✔ Harrison Avenue — Periodic Brewing, High Mountain Pies, Treeline Kitchen, Silver Dollar Saloon (1883)

✔ Melanzana (made-in-Leadville fleece — wildly popular)

✔ Delaware Hotel, Tabor Opera House, mining-history galleries

✔ Mineral Belt Trail — 11.6-mile paved loop for bikes, runners, skate-skiers, and dog walkers

OUTDOOR ACCESS (short drives):

✔ Mt. Elbert (14,440 ft) and Mt. Massive (14,428 ft) trailheads — ~25 min south

✔ Vail / Beaver Creek — ~45-55 min east via I-70

✔ Independence Pass to Aspen — ~1.5-2 hr (summer only; pass closed Nov-May)

Getting Around:

Downtown Leadville is walkable — Harrison Avenue is 5 minutes on foot and the Mineral Belt Trail is 2-3 blocks. Many guests don't start the car for two days.

Getting to Leadville: a vehicle is required — there is no regular public transit.

✔ Denver International Airport (DEN) — 2 hr 15 min via I-70 + US-24

✔ Eagle County Airport (EGE) — 50 min via I-70

✔ Colorado Springs — 2 hr 45 min

Parking at the home: approximately 3 vehicle spaces in front and alongside the property, not guaranteed. Leadville's Victorian street grid is tight, especially in winter when snow narrows the lanes. Please park directly in front of the home and be courteous to neighbors who shovel their own spots.

Other Things to Note:

ALTITUDE: Downtown Leadville sits at 10,152 feet. Plan your first 24 hours easy: drink double your usual water, ease up on alcohol, and avoid heavy exertion the day you arrive. Symptoms of altitude sickness include headache, nausea, and shortness of breath. We cannot offer refunds for altitude sickness — if you're prone, consider travel insurance.

NO A/C: Nights in Leadville run 40s-50s even in July. Windows and cross-breezes handle daytime warmth. A/C isn't installed and isn't needed at this elevation.

NO PETS: The Depot is a pet-free home.

PARKING: Approximately 3 vehicle spaces in front and alongside the home, not guaranteed. Leadville's Victorian streets were built before cars. Please park directly in front of the rental.

WILDLIFE: You're at elevation in the Rockies. Expect the occasional insect or small critter. We pest-treat regularly and ask that you keep doors closed.

LICENSE: City of Leadville License #002906.

ARRIVAL EMAIL: Look for our arrival email with a link to the digital guidebook — check your spam folder. The guidebook has your door code, WiFi password, and walking-distance local tips.

For stays longer than 15 days, a mid-stay cleaning is required and an additional fee of $150 will apply. This helps us maintain a high standard of cleanliness and ensures the home stays comfortable for the duration of your stay.

Interaction with Guests:

Traverse Hospitality manages The Depot. Your check-in instructions, door code, WiFi password, and a full Leadville guidebook (walking-distance restaurants, trailheads, ski conditions, emergency contacts) arrive by email before your stay. We monitor messages every day and respond quickly — most guests never need us, but we're one text away if you do.

This was the most friendly property I’ve ever stayed at. The house was very nice and extremely clean. Communication was outstanding, even when I was mistaken on my checkout day. They went out of their way to give us as much time as possible to get back and get our stuff. They were even nice enough to try and find us a different place to stay for the night. 10 out of 10 will definitely recommend.

Beautiful, cozy home! We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was well-stocked with everything we needed and very clean. The location was perfect….we walked down to the shops and the museums, and for the day we took the very scenic train ride, we didn’t have to bother with finding parking for that because we just walked right across the street to the train depot! We had a wonderful time in Leadville and this house was a great place to stay.

The property was not very clean, the floors were very dirty and there was garbage left in one of the bedrooms. The rest of the house was great. It had beautiful views and was in a very convenient location.

Very comfortable house, remodeled with modern features. The fireplace was cozy after a day of skiing, the beds very comfortable, the layout was perfect for us. The house is located in a quiet neighborhood but close enough to downtown to walk.
