“The Cottage Waterfront Access to Bouge Sound!

My daughter and I stayed at this lovely cottage for five nights. We were looking for a relaxing, cozy place to get away and this perfectly fit the bill. We absolutely loved sitting outside and watching the boats in the sound. Lovely!

We had a wonderful relaxing weekend at the cottage. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed being outside in the hammock and on the dock. Our dogs enjoyed being with us and the neighborhood was a great place to walk. We had all we needed to cook and only left the cottage for one meal during our stay. Definitely recommend if you are looking to relax!

The Cottage had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. The kids loved the large yard area and the hammock and enjoyed swimming in the Sound. Quaint and quiet, great neighbors - so easy to enjoy yourself.

We had a great stay at the cottage during Thanksgiving! Everything you would need to use for cooking is accessable in the kitchen, with plenty of room to prep and serve. The kitchen island was especially handy for serving and drinks while enjoying the best view possible of the inlet waterway! Property is beautiful and spacious with a great seaside hammock in the trees to enjoy as well.

Lovely cottage on the water. The large yard was perfect for our dogs. Just be aware there isn’t a fence between this property and the neighbor who has 3 dogs with an electric fence. I recommend an e collar if you let your dogs off leash. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. The living room was perfect for winding down at the end of the day.

The cottage is an excellent way to spend a peaceful view of Bogue Sound. Plenty of space to spread out throughout the house and still have amazing views of sound. Close to grocery store and several eating facilities, shopping and just simply enjoying the Newport area.

Just completed a two-week stay at this quiet, clean, and relaxing property. Most exceptional was the availability of our host whenever a question was raised. A great location with the shopping and dining in Morehead City and Atlantic Beach just a few minutes away. Certainly a great property for just getting away and having some quiet time and enjoying nature. Certainly worthy of a return trip.

Our only issue was one of the toilets which we understand is going to be replaced this fall.

This fantastic sound-side waterfront home with a dock was the perfect starting point for our two week vacation in Carteret County. Our family spent a week here with our toddler and old dog. Everyone had a blast. The house was located in a nice quiet neighborhood yet close to activities & many stores. It was well appointed and had everything we needed for a week by the water. The fishing was awesome from the end of the dock. The dog and toddler enjoyed the huge yard. Sarah was very responsive and was eager to help with any questions. This was an amazing VRBO experience with a phenomenal host and fantastic home. I will definitely book “The Cottage” the next time we are visiting Carteret County.

We had such a wonderful stay here! The hosts were incredibly communicative and helpful, which made everything smooth from start to finish. The neighborhood itself is beautiful and peaceful, and we loved being able to walk to the corner store, Waves. The employees there were so kind, and their breakfast was delicious — it quickly became part of our routine.Every day we watched both the sunrise and sunset, and some of our best memories were made right on the dock. We fished, relaxed, and honestly spent more time there than we did at the beach. This is a simple, quiet place — the perfect spot to slow down, enjoy the water, and take in the beauty around you. We’re grateful for our time here and would love to return!

Our third visit to the cottage, we love it there! Has everything we need and close to everything we like to do. Grandson was delighted to catch shrimp right off the dock!! Beautiful sunsets, very friendly and accommodating hosts. Thx for having us!!

Quiet neighborhood, beautiful view of Bogue Sound. Pier is great, enjoyed watching beautiful sunsets. Next time we’ll bring our paddle boards! Cottage is quaint and comfortable. Owner is very responsive. Drive to Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle is very easy. We look forward to returning.

We have come here for 2 years. And we are coming next year. We stay 2 weeks and we love it. We have a son, grandson and great grandson we visit. We have the best time,

The perfect spot to relax with your family! Close to the beaches, or enjoy fishing and swimming off the dock- we did both! There is nothing like walking out on a soft green lawn overlooking the sound on a sunny morning, and wandering down to the dock with coffee in hand. We lived outside during our stay, though the views from inside are also spectacular. The property is gorgeous, the house is cozy and comfortable. The bathrooms have older fixtures, but are fine. The kitchen is simple, but has everything you need. If your focus is on outdoor fun for the whole family, I highly recommend this cottage.We plan to return!

We had such a wonderful time at the cottage. The property was exactly as described. The yard was great for our dog and the views were incredible. We even caught a couple fish. We will be back!

A perfect house located in the perfect place. Nice and quiet area to get away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist areas all around, but still close enough to everything for very easy, short drives. The host was excellent and easy to get in contact with for any questions. If we're back in the area, this place will definitely be the place we choose to stay.

This old school cottage fit our needs well! Great for the dogs, access to different areas and communication with Sarah was great. Washer and dryer with dogs would be helpful but not a game changer! Would stay again!

What an amazing place😁

It was a great location. Plenty of room for the dog to run and sleep. Tired her out before we spent time on our own. Also, plenty of places nearby to walk her including the fort. Host was very quick to respond. Great experience.

We have been to this area many times and it never disappoints. This is our first time staying at this particular property and we would stay here again. The host checks on you periodically to see how your stay is going. The views of the sound never gets old. We love fishing off the pier and the hammock was a big hit.

House was very clean and great view of the sound. Really enjoyed walking out on the pier. Couple of things we didnt like was no blinds or curtains in the TV and sitting area. It gave no privacy. It looked like it did have blinds at one time but they have been removed. We would have liked solid doors on the bathrooms instead of the shutter kind. You can hear everything going on in the bathroom but that is just personal preference The gutters could use some repair. One area there is a plant growing out of the gutter. No dishwasher. All of this did not affect our stay, I would stay here again and will.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It’s like the coziest little cottage on the sound. Caught some nice fish off the dock and the boys had a blast. Would definitely come back! Sarah the host was so kind and accommodating always checking in to see how things were. We are grateful!

What a beautiful property! Was a little apprehensive about staying on the sound vs ocean beach.. but would come here time and again. Easy to get around the area.. beautiful sunsets.. moon shine.. (not the liquor) lol. Owner easily accessable andfriendly.

We have booked many vacations on VRBO and there is almost always something about the property that is misleading or not what you expect based on the listing. The Cottage was the wonderful exception!
