The Cottage was perfect for our couples weekend getaway in Olympia. The location to downtown made for a short walk to everything. The kitchen had everything we needed for quick breakfasts and relaxing dinners. House was well decorated and felt cozy even in the rainy morning. We would definitely stay again.

The cottage probably would have been a nice stay, but the smell of air freshener was overwhelming and it stayed overwhelming for the two nights I was there, even though I kept the windows opened. I had to put a pillow over my head to sleep. And I wondered about the stains on the floor.

This property met the basics: roof, floor, walls, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom. But it really could use a good, deep cleaning outside and in. Outside the property is very overgrown. There were rotted through areas of the deck in the front house, the gate to the cottage, the storage box on deck of cottage, and the railroad ties on the path. The outside could use a good pressure washing and trim. Old containers and concrete slabs could be removed. Deck on the cottage felt weak. The table/chairs and driftwood bench, need to be replaced. The area outside the double doors off the living room needs a good raking and trim. The polyester curtains on those doors need to be washed. There were visible spots. The lock box needs to be replaced. Inside it smelled of mildew and it was dusty. Everything just felt tired. The towels in the bathroom need to be replaced (thin and dingy), as does the paper in the partition between the living area and the bedroom. (It was pulling away from the trim.) The living room furniture was tired. The cushions were flat and the polyester pillows were from the 1970's. The walls were dingy. A nice coat of paint would go a long way as would new carpeting. The bed was comfortable, but the feather pillows concerned me taken in the context of everything else. It could be described as rustic, but rustic doesn't have to be sad and tired.

This charming bungalow was inviting and well stocked for any guest's needs. The bedroom had a comfortable bed and a quiet location at the back of the house. There was plenty of gathering space inoors and out.

The cottage was so calm and lovely. There was plenty of space for 2 people and we had an easy time checking in and out. Comfy and wonderful!
