The Clever Cactus – Private Palm Springs Escape

Lets face it, photos can be deceiving, and you really never know what you're getting into until you arrive and see the house in person. Let me tell you...this house was amazing! The photos didn't lie, this house is gorgeous! We had the best time on our trip. The pool and the outdoor area was super relaxing! My daughter and I had a blast playing in the super clean pool, and to make it even better, it's 8ft. deep! That is unheard of in a rental home. If you're thinking of staying here, trust me...rent the house and get ready for an amazing time!

The location is terrific and neighborhood quiet and relaxing. The property is overall decent: Plenty of space for larger groups, comfortable living room, updated kitchens and lots of outdoor seating. Could use a little TLC in some areas like bathrooms, bedding and A/C. A solid, dependable place if you don't need too much luxury.

We really enjoyed this property. It is immaculately clean, very well appointed, and a great location. We walked to the Bontanic Garden and to the South Lykken Trail head. Everything you need is in the house and the property management company is first class. Thank you!

I don’t really know where to begin. I guess I will start off by saying that this house made our trip in Palm Springs. There were five of us vacationing in Palm Springs for a friend of ours 40th birthday. It fit five people remarkably. There was no shortage on bathrooms! And that’s always a huge plus when 5 girls are trying to get ready to go out at night. Each bedroom has its own en suite and then there’s another bathroom with a massive shower! The home is so clean, the beds were so comfortable, the Decor and the styling was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. It was so hard to get out of that pool! And don’t let the word “salt water” fool you, it isn’t salty and a huge bonus that we never smelled like chlorine! Acme house was on top of it when we had a little hiccup with our plumbing, and resolved the issue within 30 minutes of our call. The only reason to even mention that is to reassure anyone that if for some strange reason you need something, they are more than accommodating to help your stay remain comfortable. The location is incredible. It’s definitely walkable (if it’s not to hot) to the downtown strip, great distance for a nice bike ride, and a very in expensive Uber ride. The neighborhood is gorgeous every neighboring home is well manicured and taken care of and this home is no exception. We sat around the fire pit at night, cooked great meals and sat on the outdoor patio, curled up with good movies at night. I honestly cannot say enough great things about this house and the Acme House Company. We will definitely be back. We have a deal that every time we met here, we get to rotate who stays in the Casita! The birthday girl got it this year.

Lovely Home! Exactly as pictured. It was more beautiful than the pictures. . We had a fabulous time with family. Enjoyed the pool and yard.

Overall, we had a great time at this property. The inside of the house is spacious and well-appointed. The location was not walkable to downtown, but it was in a lovely neighborhood with a few restaurants within easy walking distance. We also rented bikes, and loved exploring the neighborhood. The house is older, and there was some disrepair, specifically in the outdoor pool area. There was a large, old stump right by the pool, and a good deal of decommissioned electrical equipment. The outside needs updating and maintenance (painting, etc). We spent most of our time in the pool and outside, and it was a surprise to have the outdoor space have these eyesores, especially given the cost of this rental. That said, the pool is large, beautiful and very clean. There were also pretty fruit trees in the yard and it was fun to pick a few grapefruits for breakfast. The air conditioning units were effective, but a little noisy. The rental company was very responsive to our one call, and checked up to make sure everything was going well.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. This is a lovely house. There are two master bedrooms that are both comfortable and open on the pool. The location is great - close to hiking.

Came to Palm Springs for covid kosher escape. Swam in the pool, enjoyed the sun, and did some hiking.

A couple hiccups (front gate fell apart at arrival, bed frame broke after installation was not correct), but rental company was quick to respond. The house infrastructure is a bit old, so HVAC is loud and inconsistent. Outside paint needs an update on patio. Washing machine has mildew odor so didn’t use. Front gate should be automated rather than needing a person to open and close manually.Despite property description, it is not walkable to downtown. Requires walk along busy road which includes a large construction site. Didn’t think it was safe to walk to area at night.
