Stayed Jul 21, 2025Beautifully-appointed, very clean, comfortable bright, updated historic home in easy-access central location. Large kitchen had all that we needed, set up in a user-friendly way. Bathrooms great with lovely old bathtub, great water pressure, super cushy towels! Wifi worked great. Amanda and Tiff the housekeeper were very helpful and easy and fun to interact with, and we looked forward to seeing the dogs Mike and Helen each day. Our only slight issue was with high season traffic noise at night from Route 1, which is understandable given location, it just caught us off guard. Once we adjusted to it, it was fine. We kayaked, hiked, and ate out daily in all locations within an hour of the house. A few miles away at Stockton Springs Marina is an EXCELLENT restaurant called The Cove which is like eating at the home of a friend who happens to be a pro chef. Highly recommended.

Stayed Jul 17, 2025Lovely 19th century feel with a very modern kitchen. The host and fellow-inhabitant (of the back of the building) were charming, the very few times we saw them. Expectations were clear to us, but to reiterate; there's one shower and one giant tub in two bathrooms. The upstairs bathroom is accessed via one of the two bedrooms. We found this only slightly awkward. Put an early riser in one of those bedrooms. Location is perfect for visiting Belfast, Bucksport, or day trips to Blue Hills, Mount Desert Island, Camden, etc. Some traffic noise went away at bedtime. Lovely art and furnishings made the place feel special.
