Barry was an excellent host and I hope to stay here in the future.
The room we booked was swapped on us last minute, no communication provided. Fri:The room was unlocked upon arrival but the code to lock the room was not provided. Since there was no internal lock for the room, it was very difficult to sleep knowing that if someone had the code, they could gain access to the room. We had to text the Host (Sat) to get the code, which was not provided until 9:30am on the Saturday, by which time we'd left for the day, forcing us to take all of our belongings with us. There was no soap in the room, anywhere. No shampoo, no conditioner, no shower soap. I've never been to a hotel, motel, vrbo that doesn't provide soap. There was a cleaning caddy in the bathroom next to a spot on the wall which clearly needed cleaning. The shower ran out of hot water. The parking was a challenge. The outside of the property (guest entrance at the ramp) was a dumping ground for paint pots, old tyres etc. The inside of the property was dark, unwelcoming and had what we think was a dining room which appeared to be doubling as a storage room. We enquired on the Saturday, by text, why we were not in the Exploria Room that we'd booked. We were told there was a glitch in the VRBO system that overbooked the room 7 times, 5 of which had to be cancelled. Math? Still not sure how that equates to us having to move rooms. (FYI VRBO, we've never experienced an overbooking issue - when using the VRBO platform). We booked and paid in full April 2nd 23. BEYOND DISAPPOINTING
It's been over a decade since we've stayed in a B & B, which is sad since we always enjoy them. The room we stayed in was massive, with it's own bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. The traffic was a bit noisy but died down to nothing after 11. We didn't hear any of the other residents/guests during the night. The house is in a fantastic location near downtown, which has great dining and shopping options. I wish we had had more time to look around. The host family was informative, responded quickly and offered us a really nice breakfast selection. We'd recommend a stay here if you like visiting historic homes.
This property is awesome! It was Parent Weekend at FSU and we didn't want to stay in the craziness of Tallahassee.. This was 40 minutes to campus which was perfect for us. It was quiet and quaint. The owner was amazing and very accommodating. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We even ended up watching the game at the house with our college age kids. I will repeat this..the beds were like sleeping on a cloud...very very comfortable. You are 20 minutes from Thomasville GA and worth the drive. We will be back. Thanks Barry!
