Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The boat house was in a great location. We were satisfied with the house, site unseen, had no choice but to be satisfied. The place really needs some work. The outside entrance door was hanging up on opening, we worked on it and got it working better. The windows blinds on the canal side were tore up and stuffed under bed and closets. No privacy in those rooms. The outside decks appear to have not been cleaned in a month. I could go on, suggest pay attention to the upkeep, a little work and it would be a good place.

Garden City Realty provided great customer service throughout the entire rental process. The house is nicely located an easy walk to the beach. The house desperately needs a washer and dryer. There was water leaking on the pavement underneath the house (coming from the locked portion, maybe AC unit?) The mattresses in the the two rooms with two beds each were very loud (definitely time for replacement).

However, the beds/mattresses in the front two bedrooms (the rooms with 2 beds) were uncomfortable; I recommend that the owner upgrade to better beds/mattresses. I would also recommend some anti-slip applicators in the shower, as the shower floors were slippery when wet.

Improvements have been made, furniture, flooring, two king beds and a small dishwasher has been installed. Nice touches, but the small things, like bugs and termites I fought all week, four beds all double made horrible squeaky sounds and very uncomfortable. We wanted to enjoy the carport area with hammocks but there’s no plug- in sockets for radios or fans. No washer and dryer, but I knew that. It would be really nice if just a small stack space saver one could be installed. I made a list and called maintenance they were nice and fast. But, hot water leaks and bugs had to be addressed later. We did dock our boat there, but the low tide was a concern. It is a comfy layout for our family, would love for it to have another upgrade and deep cleaning. Location and layout I would recommend. Garden City Realty is and has been friendly and helpful.

The location is great for walking access to beach, pier and Sam’s Corner. Porches have a Beautiful view of either the Inlet or the ocean. Could definitely use some new rocking chairs or outdoor furniture. The beds are not comfortable and could definitely use updated mattresses. Some of our guest went and purchased memory foam mattress pads .I would say the house looked like it was the end of a busy Summer season..

As for sleeping arrangements, you better be friends with your roomie as two groups will have to share a kings size bed. The info said the house would sleep 10-12 but not the case if you need privacy during your sleep. The double beds(4) had out dated spring mattresses that proved noisy and soft. The only other issue was no washer/dryer. If you’re a family with kids and staying here it might be a little much carrying clothes to a corner venue. The location was great, the dock out back was great and overall we had a great trip. Replace the mattresses and add washer/dryer and this would be an awesome place to stay.

Great view of the beach from the front porch and amazing inlet view from the back porch. We had a lot of fun fishing from the dock. The location is great with a short walk to the pier, arcade, and shops. We contacted the rental management service along with maintenance for a couple of issues and they were very accommodating and corrected the issues promptly. We look forward to our next stay and would recommend to anyone.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I never knew that there were so many different roaches until I stayed here. The location was great. The view was wonderful. Light switches going no where doing nothing. The ceiling fans in the bedrooms were noisy and wobbled around. We had a stopped up drain in one of the bathrooms and the service guy fixed that right away. The furniture was so dirty we had to buy sheets to put on them to feel safe enough to sit on. The floor was sandy which you understand at the beach until we decided to clean them to find that we were walking on filth, hair and black dirt is what we clean up with swifters more that a half a pack of the wet pads. Very disappointed in our stay since every evening and morning was a challenge chasing down roaches. I'm sorry for the negative review but maybe if other people would review honestly I would not have stayed here.

It's on the marsh so you can fish/crab off the dock and it's a good spot to launch kayaks (check the tides first though, during low tide launching or landing would be tough with the low water level). Public beach access is a quick walk, straight out the front door and across 2 fairly slow streets. There's plenty to do in the area though you don't really have to leave the rental with the kitchen to cook in and the marsh and beach to explore. The AC worked great, there was not a bug to be seen which is amazing for a marsh area, and upon walking in it smelled clean; no musty beach house smell at all. The water in the shower gets HOT, even with everyone using it back to back before heading out for dinner, and the water pressure is good. The house condition is good; it's a beach rental that's been in service for a while, so it's not in mint condition, but it's clean and the appliances worked great. While it's nothing fancy, it was a comfortable fit for our crew of 7 with plenty of parking and enough seating.Minor nit picking, but not having a washer and dryer is a small downside. With the beach and marsh you'll want to bring plenty of clean clothes to change into. The dock is small so it can limit the number of people sitting on it and fishing, and during low tide it sits on the mud with a tilt towards the water. An included grill would be nice as there's plenty of space outside. Some of the outside seating could use updating to something newer and a bit more comfortable. The sliding glass door to the back porch was a bit of a bear to open and close.Overall we had a great week and would consider the house again. None of the minor cons prevented an enjoyable week, and the rental agency team were helpful and very nice.
