Originally the developer's own home, no expense was spared in building this unique shaped modern home located in one of the few private gated communities in the area. From the gun-barreled copper roof to the curved walls and archways throughout, to the wide open views of the beach and the bay, this is a one-of-a-kind property.

The Neighborhood:

This home is located in a gated high-end neighborhood, The Boardwalk, with beachfront and 2nd row homes right in the heart of Jamaica Beach. It is walking distance to a few local restaurants, hardware store, gas station and coffee shop.



JAMAICA BEACH:

Jamaica Beach is a 979 Crew well-loved community located about 10 minutes from the heart of Galveston and is part of the island's desirable West End offering restaurants, grocery, and beach-worthy activities. Jamaica Beach has access to the Gulf side as well as the Bay side (house dependent) and also has its own fire and police department plus city park with pool. Jamaica Beach's boat launch is restricted. If you plan on bringing a boat, the closest public launch is at Waterman's off Stewart Road about 3 miles east of Jamaica Beach.

WIFI/TV SERVICE:

Our properties include WIFI/Internet and TV service for your streaming services. Due to our location (Island living is a whole other way of life), service may be unpredictable or spotty, and repair times can be delayed. While we will do everything we can to ensure these items are in good working order before your arrival, please note, these services may not be as consistent as they are in your area. So grab your favorite people, ditch the electronics, and spend the day at our beautiful beaches!



979 VACATION PROPERTY SERVICES:

All 979 rental home follow local and state tax rules. Reservations may be booked up to 365 days in advance. Please send inquiry and details if more than a year out as rates and availability may not be updated. Each reservation includes applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, $1M liability protection and $10K damage insurance - and good news, No Security Deposit Required!



CANCELLATION POLICY:

When booking direct with 979, you may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. Some exceptions may apply for last-minute reservations. After 24 hours, cancel at least 30 days before your check-in and receive a refund in your original form of payment less a $50 cancellation fee. Cancellations within 30 days of check-in are non-refundable.



Reservations made on 3rd party channels/OTAs such as Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Hopper etc may be subject to terms and conditions which may be different than 979's. When booking through a 3rd party channel, the cancellation policy you agreed to at the time of booking is the cancellation policy on your reservation.

    The property is beautiful and in a nice quiet area. Access to the beach was amazing. Views are absolutely stunning day and night. The house is gorgeous with plenty of room for guests to spread out or all gather together.

    We had a full house...9 adults and a baby. The location close to the beach was perfect to run back and forth to the beach as needed. The elevator opens into the den with trundle, so that's something to consider. Views, kitchen, and patios were all wonderful. Neighborhood very nice. There is some visible wear, but that's typical of beach houses, nothing serious. Would definitely book again.

    Located in a gated community, we were thrilled with the location of the home to the water/beach. Access was easy, with well maintained walkway. Exterior of home appeared to have slight damage from recent hurricane/weather - the drive was flooded upon our arrival. Be prepared for mosquitos. And lots of them. Canal behind home and flooding drew swarms and swarms of the little pests! For the most part, the home was clean. Towels and sheets smelled freshly laundered- baths and kitchen appeared clean at first look. However, we found lots of roach traps and sticky strips under sinks, inside cabinets and under furniture. Many of them were FULL of carcasses- yuk! I guess the lucky part was that all the large roaches we saw were dead - but they showed up each morning belly-up in random places. Air conditioning worked, but we had to keep bathroom doors closed and keep the storm shutters down during daytime to maintain a reasonable temperature for sleeping. The glass block -type window jb bathrooms only magnified the heat. Only one bedroom had places for us to unpack suitcases. Kitchen and dining were spacious, but first rental I’ve ever had when multiple cabinets were locked and unavailable for use. Multiple refrigerators and 1 range tops. Very convenient for cooking for our family of 12. Listing says there is a gas grill… it was charcoal so we had to last minute go out and buy charcoal. Unabailable for use.

    Amazing Home if it was properly maintained. 1st) No air conditioning in bedrooms. So Hot .We had air in the hall and 2 box fans so we decided to not lose a whole day of vacation while they fixed it. 2) Roaches Alive & everywhere huge on the walls ,under the beds...so many I vacuumed them up a number of times.They say they have tried to exterminate but it's not working! 3)No Hot water in kitchen, or guest bedrooms.They did finally come out the day before we left we were there a week. Cold showers! I called and received an answer then nothing, wrote again for an update? Nothing until Saturday. 4)Sparks coming from an outlet that we called about for safety. They came Unplugged...cords everywhere. 5)Plumbing inside tank went crazy and flooded the floor we cleaned that all up and turned off that water...glad we caught it! 6) Elevator in this house is a must, stopped working the first day. Fixed it before we left. 7) Air upstairs then stopped and to not lose MORE time of our vacation our Son said I think it's just the Thermostat So he drove to the store bought batteries he put back together and it worked hallelujah! Off to the beach. 8)When we first got there I stepped on a good size piece of glass in the dinning area bled on the floor able to pull it out! I vacuumed the whole house, we have little ones. I understand none of the beachfronts are perfect but this was pricey and at the top of my budget. Lost to much time. So disappointed!

    The house is super clean, great location, and very well supplied . I would definitely stay here again . The elevator is a big bonus. We had one little problem and it was taken care of immediately. Excellent place!!

    Nice property and great view...overall it was very good. The mattresses and pillows need to be upgraded. They don't match the quality of the house and all of us complained about being sore and our necks hurting and for me I have to include my back.

    Location was super! Right on the beach with a walkway. House was supplied extra ordinarily. Huge bath towels. All kitchen supplies you could need were provided. Glasses, plates, silverware, cooking utensils, knives, were first class. Appliances were the best. The only thing missing was an ice machine. Elevator was so nice to have. Barbeque pit was super. Owners really provided an outstanding beach house.

    Great overall experience. Management was quick to deal with small issues. House was on quiet end of beach. We absolutely loved it. We could not believe how many decks the house had.
