TheBangalow Barn opens the entire property to you, its architect-designed gardens meandering gently down to lovely Byron Creek. With the Romantic Getaway, the two of you settle into one of the three bedrooms and let the rest of the property fall quiet around you.

The Barn was built from the property’s original horse stables and styled, inside and out, from recycled materials — the owners’ vision of a sustainable, eco-friendly oasis that still delivers every luxury you could want on a coastal escape. All bedrooms and the living room have split-system air conditioning and heating, so your retreat stays exactly as warm or as cool as the moment calls for. Beyond the wide, spacious decked yard, Byron Creek and the surrounding farmland roll away until you can’t help but feel miles from civilisation. That stillness is deepened by your own private outdoor shower and two vintage claw-foot bath tubs, yours throughout the stay, so you never have to leave this slice of paradise to keep enjoying it. There is a very luxurious indoor bathroom for your use as well.

While you wander the heavenly, architecturally designed gardens, follow the river-stone steps down to the private swimming hole in the freshwater of Byron Creek, fed by natural springs upstream — the perfect place to close a warm Northern Rivers day. When the mood turns, slip into the heated magnesium pool, gently warmed for cosy winter evenings and refreshingly cool through the summer months, yours to enjoy throughout your stay.

For a further measure of luxury, recharge in the three-person infrared sauna after a day exploring the hinterland and beyond, then drift indoors and settle beside the French-designed suspended rotating wood fireplace with a glass of wine as the evening softens.

The Master bedroom has its own ceiling fan, and with the beautiful open-plan living, double-insulated walls and roof, the breeze offers ample eco-friendly cooling throughout your stay.

Pet friendly:
We are pet friendly, but we do request that all bookings obtain permission when making a booking first. There is an additional cleaning fee if your request is approved. The host has the right to cancel the booking if approval for the pet isn’t obtained prior. We ask STRICTLY NO pets on furniture or beds. If breached, an extra cleaning fee will apply.

We ask that you please read our STRICT rules before booking, to be sure you are able to abide by them during your stay. We thank you for your understanding, as we want to offer the best at all times for our guests to enjoy.

As the Barn is in a rural area, services can occasionally be disrupted. As hosts, we will do all we can to minimise the impact this may have on your stay. Given our location, tradespeople are in high demand, so should such services be required during your stay we will do everything we can to resolve any issues as quickly as possible. We appreciate you working with us to provide the best experience for you while visiting us.

Getting around
- Bangalow village is just a minute from the property.
- Byron Bay is a twenty-minute drive through the hinterland to the cafes, restaurants and beaches.
- Lennox Head is about 22km away.
- Ballina airport is twenty-five minutes away.
- Gold Coast airport is fifty minutes away on the M1.

Good to know
A few things we hold firm, so every couple who stays can count on the same quiet and privacy. The following are strict and remain in full force:
- No parties, events, gatherings, elopements or weddings, unless approved by the owner in advance.
- No visitors — only registered guests may enter the house at any time, unless permission is obtained from the host.
- Pets must be approved when you book and pet fee paid — otherwise the host has the right to cancel the booking at any stage.
- Pets are never to be left unattended, at any time.
- No pets on the furniture or beds; if breached, an extra cleaning fee applies.
- Pets must be kept under control or on a leash at all times, unless in a fenced yard.
- No smoking anywhere on the property, at any time.
- Strictly no outside noise after 10pm.

Children are welcome.

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 11am. An earlier check-in is often possible on request, just ask before you arrive.
We keep these house rules firm because they protect the peace, privacy and care that make the Barn what it is — please read them before you book, so your stay is nothing but easy.

A couple of things that come with our rural setting, so there are no surprises:
- Being in the country, the odd insect or animal may find its way in or around the property. We do everything we can to keep this to a minimum, but the Australian bush is ultimately out of our hands.
- Services to the house (Starlink and the like) can occasionally drop out here. We do all we can to keep everything running at full capacity throughout your stay.

A breach of these rules means immediate dismissal from the property and loss of any remaining booking.

Please check for all personal belongings before you check out — anything left behind can’t be our responsibility.
