Freeburg, Illinois
Wonderful, quaint simple farmhouse with nice decor, trees and acres! 1898 home that we updated in 2008.
Walk around on the three acres , sit under large shade trees while over looking 100 plus acres of farm fields. Often pretty sunsets and start skies. Only two neighbor homes across the fields.
Bedroom downstairs adjoins the living room with two futon- firm sleep beds and TV , window air.
Full kitchen and bathroom main floor.
Upstairs full bed and twin in same loom , window air. Steep steps , children under 10 please sleep on main level.
Nice place to get away, clean and really peaceful. Donkey was an extra + :)
Tranquil stay
When i pictured my dream home this house is it. There is so much land and the dogs loved it. I have never seen my dogs so happy to run around and play here. The house was super cute and we loved the personality in it. Jill was super nice, accommodating, and had the most amazing communication abilities. Im a bit sad that we only stayed for one night and we will definitely be staying in the future. Also Dexter! We loved him he was so sweet and so were the barn cats! Just absolutely amazing!
We enjoyed our stay! The house is adorable, very comfortable, and Jill was a great host! Very good communication prior to our visit and the day of. Dexter the donkey was a hit! My son enjoyed giving him the treats that were there to give him, and the kitty on the property was very sweet also. We brought our dog along and she loved the property also. It was nice having the large grassy area to walk her around a bit after the few hour drive we made. All in all a very pleasant stay!
Great experience. We live in a tiny apartment in Denver with no yard, so the dogs were blown away …they had the time of their lives. I want to live in a place just like this. …perfect. Jill was very communicative and hospitable. We will have great memories of the farm and Dexter the donkey!
I visited with my boyfriend and 2 pups over Thanksgiving. We had the most wonderful time. SO RELAXING. If you are looking to get away from it all, this is the place to go! Dexter the donkey made this stay even better! Jill is so kind and sweet! She brought us a pie the day following Thanksgiving. She is a weaver and welcomes guests to try and learn the process. You couldn’t ask for a better host!
The farmhouse was cozy and inviting. We enjoyed our time there.
We loved our stay at the farm! It was so refreshing and private—great for a little get away from the hustle bustle. I hope to be back soon!
Great country getaway. We really enjoyed the peace and tranquility of this slice of heaven in the country. When pulling up to the property between the rows of corn we came upon a mama deer and her baby. When we got up close to the house there were several turkey that took flight out of the yard. Dexter the donkey was a wonderful host who greeted us when we arrived and bid us farewell when we left. Jill made sure we were taken care of and the house was very clean and had everything we needed for our weekend stay. My parents can't wait to visit again so they can stay at their new favorite home away from home.
Being within 30 minutes of Sparta we were excited to find this listing on VRBO, since everything fills up so quickly around AIM/Grand Nationals. This was a great property to land after a long day. Loved the location (secluded, quiet, and tons of stars). Owner was very easy to work with, frequently checked-in (on VRBO), and was always quick to respond. A/C was with window/individual units. Worked fine and was worth the location.
Great place to getaway, had an awesome stay. Close enough to the city for a quick drive enjoy what it had to offer, but far enough away from to enjoy the country peace and quiet.
Overall great. Amazing host with great communication!
Loved sitting outside bird watching very peaceful seting
