Manzanita, Oregon
Summer Camp includes a beautiful craftsman beach house with a bunkhouse. The main house includes a comfortable great room for hanging-out, a cozy dining nook, fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The bunkhouse has 8 bunks.
We like to put the kids and their friends in the bunkhouse and use the main house for the adults. This works out great for both the adults and the kids.
The bunkhouse has a dramatic vaulted ceiling, oversized french doors and craftsman wood paneling throughout. The cottage and bunkhouse are connected by a spacious deck. Summer Camp is two blocks from the beach and five blocks from town. Curl up and enjoy the quiet by the wood stove after a brisk walk on the beautiful beach or hang out on the rear-deck with family and friends and enjoy a barbecue on the gas grill.

FROM THE GUEST BOOK:
LOVE Manzanita and this amazing house! Could not have been better … from the super fun bunk house, to the deck, outdoor shower (my favorite) and sunny weather -- the perfect mini vacation with friends. A great time was had by all! Looking forward to another visit…

Beautiful weather, a stunning home, a short walk to the beach, the cozy wood stove, the bunkhouse, dinner on the deck, bonfires, walks on the beck, good friends, great food, a trip to Oswald West State Park. Thank you very much for the chance to stay in your home.

…have spent several weeks relaxing & having a wonderful time here at Summer Camp in Manzanita. This is our second visit to Manzanita and we just love it. It is still as quaint as ever and has one of the best beaches along this coast, we think. We will miss Summer Camp and the cool decks & bunkhouse where the kids have hung-out a lot! It has been so relaxing here and we've spent a lot of time reading books and playing all the board games -- including a new one my son now wants to buy 'Settlers of Catan'. Lots of walks on the beach, boogie boarding and hanging-out. We've done several hikes and recommend Neahakanne Mountain on a clear day, Falcon Cover and Ecola Stake Park.

We just wanted to say thank you for extending to us your beautiful summer camp at Manzanita...we all fell in love with it! You have such excellent attention to detail and with two architects and a former architect/designer in our group, we were completely enamored!
The set-up is perfect and the beds were the best I've ever slept in. My 8 year old son said to me as I was tucking him in tonight in his own bed, 'I had three nights of sleeping in the most comfortable bed!' (both of our kids slept in the middle bunks while our friends' kids slept way up high on the top bunks.) I guess it's time we get him a new bed...

You probably heard me say 'wow' when I walked in the front door here… Cape Falcon is a splendid hike. Bonfires on the beach with s'mores!!! Thank you for sharing this comfortable home with us.

We chose Summer Camp for our small friend reunion as it looked like a great place to spend some time. We were so happy with our choice! It was mid-November, and the weather was mostly misty, sprinkling, or pouring for the majority of our stay, but we had a fire in the woodstove, plenty of board games, and stocked up at the grocery store on the way in. When the rain did let up, it was a quick walk down to the beach to watch the huge waves come in. The beds were so comfortable, and listening to the rain on the roof at night was perfection. We would absolutely stay here again, as it was a nice and quiet location, yet a short drive to Cannon Beach. We appreciated being away from the crowds. Summer Camp is a great getaway!
We loved everything ! Great location and the house was perfect for our family vacation trip.
We had a wonderful time! The layout of the house was perfect two families with children. Each set of parents was able to have their own bedroom space and bathroom on different floors, and the kids had their own space and bathroom which was lovely. I feel like it's fairly clear from the listing, but the bunk house is disconnected from the main house. We just set up a old school baby monitor, worked perfect for our kids ages 3-7. The only issue we had was with the internet occasionally not working out in the bunk house for the kids' TV. I would recommend bringing a backup device like a tablet that can play movies with an HDMI connection to avoid this issue. The street in front of the house is perfect for kids riding back and forth on bikes, not too busy. Those fews cars that did drive by tended to be driving slowly through the neighborhood. Lots of friendly people walking around. Had a lovely stay, looking forward to returning!
We had a great time at Manzanita Summer Camp. The space was perfect for two families with teens. Great location, comfortable house, and easy check in. We’ll be back.
Wonderful family vacation home. Enough room for the family to have time together or some quiet time. We enjoyed our stay.
Just finished our family’s third stay at this house. We love the layout, bunk house, and proximity to beach and town. Thank you!
We had a great stay at Summer Camp Manzanita. The bunkhouse was a very fun experience for my teen daughter and her small group of friends. We have stayed at this cabin over the years and after this recent stay have decided that we’ve “aged out” of this rental now that we have a teenager and a good night’s sleep is becoming a higher priority. The cookware was not in the best shape, the beds in the main house were uncomfortable, as was the bedding and pillows, and the upstairs bathrooms felt a little dark and cramped (never bothered me in prior years). This is still an incredible option for families or groups with kids (old enough to be unsupervised in the bunkhouse) and with the easily walkable proximity to the beach. The porch and deck are great features too although the small yard in the back has seen much better days. The outdoor shower was perfect after coming home from the beach.
great place for kids and another family. Kids stayed in bunk house and loved it. The location was amazing and honestly i was prepared to walk a ways to the beach, but was surprised at how close the beach is to the house. Owner was amazing even calling when my kids struggled with the Wifi password, which was a misspelling mistake on my kids part, but this is not my kids review....lol but honestly this was a great stay and 100% as advertised, only beach was closer (about 2 blocks) then i imagined by reviews and descriptions. Thanks for everything
Great location. Loved the layout of both the main house and the bunkhouse.
My family stayed for a long weekend and enjoyed Summer Camp tremendously. This home is thoughtfully laid out and well equipped to host a large family or group. We especially appreciated the comfortable beds - Peg, bless you for making sure your home has nice beds!!!! So many VRBOs skimp on providing quality beds… We are already looking forward to our next stay. Until then, thanks again, Sonya & Chad
With kids and dogs, we had so much room and comfort, yet the house was intimate. We had short walks to the beach where we had days of sports and fun as well as a campfire at night. And this was in the winter!! Such a fun house and beautiful surroundings. It was a great way to ring in 2023!!
We had a wonderful weekend in Manzanita, with hiking, cards, laughter, and puzzles. The “summer camp” was a perfect location for a group of 10; the built in table fit us all and the sounds of the ocean serenaded us throughout our stay. The host was especially gracious to us and volunteered to mail back an item we left there. Highly recommended!
Relaxing great location- linens could stand updating, comforters washed, towels seemingly should be white are gray and frayed- no bar soap provided as with other properties - overall an enjoyable time and fairly clean
Such a great house and great location - loved it!
Great location and a great house! Easy walk to the beach and Laneda.
Absolutely PERFECT for a girls trip. It’s walking distance to coffee, book store, winery, and beach. Great table inside for games and the deck was lovely for outside meals and lounging around and reading. The pictures don’t do the bunk house justice- so incredibly fun. Would LOVE to go back.
We loved this unique house for our Girl Scout get away. The girls enjoyed the bunk house. The kitchen is well appointed with plenty of space for the group. The large booth table in the front of the house was a favorite spot of ours. The beds are all comfortable and there's plenty of towels and linnens to go around. Our only complaint is that the home could benefit from a good dusting and mopping. Really, this is a gem and everyone will enjoy their time here.
The property is in a great location just a few blocks off the beach. Beautiful space and plenty of room for a group.
Although the weather didn't cooperate, this house was perfect for our family get away. Plenty of room, great location, and a super responsive host.
What a beautiful house. Everything that we needed was there. Thank you so much!
