Sunset BEAUTY Cottage on Lake Erie - Newer Build

We have stayed here more than once. We love the location and the view.

Beautiful location for porch-sitting, looking at the lake and enjoying sunsets. House is comfortable and well-equipped, owner was extremely responsive and helpful, and there are tons of things to do either west (Geneva, Madison and Geneva-on-the-Lake), east (Ashtabula and recommend the harbor) or south (wineries everywhere). Highly recommend and a great place to rewind, recharge and relax.

Check in process was a little difficult. There is not great service in the area until you get on the wifi. There is a security camera inside the house pointing towards the front door that we weren't aware of and it was not mentioned on the listing. Rooms were okay. They both had outboard air conditioning units. There were some insects that were getting into the house that weren't aware of so we weren't confident that the rooms were cleaned properly. The view of the lake was pretty and you would be able to launch kayaks from where you were staying if you were careful. Within 15-20 minutes of the main wineries in the area and 10 minutes from the beach.

Very clean, very quiet. One of the most relaxing spots we have stayed at the lake. Enjoyed the upper deck in the mornings with our coffee. The bed was extremely comfortable. We had great meals in Ashtabula and enjoyed ice cream on the strip! Would recommend.

Well-kept, waterfront property. Quiet neighborhood. Only down side was no access to water-needed to drive to beach or walking path along water.

I was very impressed with the house from the moment we walked inside. It is immaculate and well-maintained. There are a slew of extra convenience items. The owners thought of everything from baby gates to wine openers. The location was easy to access and as described. Communication was quick, easy and friendly. The view is outstanding and the drive into GOTL was quick and easy. I will share that the king bed is very soft. I tend to prefer a firm mattress but it was still comfortable and I slept well during our visit. Thanks for the great experience.

We gave this property 4 stars because of a couple things. When first arriving it was very hard to find which road/drive to pull into. The sign is not super big or lit up. The road/drive also has many deep potholes going to the house. We got to the house around 10pm and when we got there the A/C was not on so it was very warm inside. I suggest if you go to this property to get there at check in time, 4pm, so you can turn the air on and get it cooled down by the time you go to bed. Otherwise, the house was very nice and clean. We had great communications with the property owner as they responded right away to our responses when we reached out. Had no issues otherwise.
