Sunset Beach Beautiful Beach Home !

The location of this property was perfect. We were within walking distance to the beach as well as many restaurants. This rental was definitely run down and not clean by any means. The appliances worked well and it was convenient to have a washer and dryer. My biggest complaint is that there were no cleaning supplies. I had to ask the host for the house code upon arrival but she responded rather quickly to my messages. It fit 12 adults comfortably but definitely gave me a frat house feel.

This house is run down and in need of much repairs and deep cleaning. Screens missing or ripped. Exterior doors in bad shape. Oven could not be used do to the build up of burnt food which would cause it to smoke. Fridge had to be cleaned inside and outside before using. Cupboards had mouse droppings and very dirty inside. Ceiling fans, carpeting stained and dirty. No smoke detector on main level. Railing on stairs leading to upper floor too lose to use. Hand towels and face towels not available. The 3 cloths that were provided were stained. I tried washing them and stains would not wash out. Downstair bathroom sink leaks. Charcoal from grill had been dumped on sidewalk along side house and just left there. Hot tub was full of sand and cloudy. Did not use. Light fixtures with burnt out bulbs or missing lamp shades/coverings. I took pictures to document what we arrived to. I am surprised that Vrbo allows this type of rental without any inspections. Both the railing to the upstairs and the missing smoke detectors violate code. This cottage has huge potential. It's sad that it is in this condition.

This house needs a lot of updating, but we could’ve looked past that if it was at least clean. The bathrooms and floors were dirty, the couch looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 1970s, the carpeted stairs were stained and skeevy, and on the second day we found a cockroach in the bathroom. Thank god we all brought our own sheets, pillows and blankets because I would not have slept on the provided ones. Very disappointed in our experience and would definitely not stay here again. Only positive was the location (one block from beach and Caddy’s beach bar) - the hot tub and porch were awesome on the first night but the hot tub wouldn’t get hot the other days.
