The house was in a great location. Some household supplies were limited but we managed. Overall it was a nice house and we enjoyed our stay.
Nice views, we would definitely come back!
Lovely property about 11 minutes from town in remote area of lake. It’s quiet and relaxing. House was quite comfortable and had a nice firepit lakeside. The check out was a little early 10am but other than that ro perry was nice and very reasonably priced
We rented this property because it included two kayaks. They were both filled with dirty, stinky water and covered in spiderwebs and bugs. In order to clean them out, we would have had to drag them a long distance, uphill which would have been difficult. We did look for a faucet and water hose, but there was lots of overgrowth of weeds, etc. near the house and we never saw a hose or a faucet. The entire property was literally covered in ant beds! We ended up going into town to rent kayaks and fish at a public dock. The pictures online showed a house that looked pristine inside and out. The patio area had no covering of any kind so that we were unable to sit out there and enjoy it. There was a covered area on a lower level, but it was also filthy and infested with spiderwebs and ants. As a result, took food into town and found a picnic table under a shade tree to have a picnic. There was a large stain on the bedspread in the room where I slept. There was dust covering the vent hood in the kitchen and the shelf paper in the drawers was very dirty. We couldn’t get the outside lights to work. We were instructed to take the sheets and towels downstairs to the washer and dryer in the basement. The lighting on the stairs was very dim and dangerous. There were dead bugs all over the floor downstairs. We had to go to the dollar store and buy soap for both bathrooms because there was none there when we arrived. I could go on, but this should explain why we did not enjoy our stay and why we are very frustrated that we paid such a large sum of money for an experience like this. I have stayed in VRBO‘s for about 20 years and always had a great experience, but my last two have made me stop and question whether I want to take a chance on staying in one again. My husband and I have just booked travel for October and November and we are sticking with hotels for now.
Let’s start with communication regarding the rental—as of check-in time I had received only auto-generated emails into my email from Vrbo. What I later found in my junk account were emails from the management company Evolve giving actual pertinent info to the rental. No where had it been relayed to watch for emails from Evolve Management. The house was not overly clean by any means. Dead bees in the window sills, other dead bugs around, cobwebs in corners. The house may have been “cleaned” after previous guests, but it was evident no one had been there recently in preparation for our arrival. The place was not clean at all. There were ants around entire house to the point we couldn’t stand still while attempting to unload car. They did send exterminator the next day to spray. Initially stopped ants, but the ants were back by late in the day. Ant issue would have easily been noticed had anyone come by the property prior to our arrival. There is a drip coffee maker, though my contact couldn’t tell me what type beforehand so we brought keurig pods rather than grounds. Coffee was provided, but was a very large container of generic coffee…. definitely on the list of worst coffee I’ve had. The outdoor area near the lake was not as pictured. We were not able to sit by the lake because the pictured chairs were no longer present. We were looking forward to spending time watching the sunset by the water. It defeated the purpose of being lakeside. If we had known, we could have packed camp chairs. A towel from the cabinet was either dirty or had a disgusting stain. A dish towel hanging in the kitchen had a foul smell. Let’s talk about check out. 10AM. Industry standard is 11AM. Evolve has a long list of things they want done (or suffer the financial repercussions) including stripping beds, doing dishes, taking out the garbage and starting a load of laundry AND they charge a housekeeping fee. Our group does not feel its up to renter to start a load of laundry. Why pay cleaning fee?? I can see asking to strip down bed sheets but thats about it. You can definitely find a better rental in Granbury than this. Be wary of the pic—the “magic” camera was used
The property is well located. Dollar general is down the street. The granbury square is also near the property.
THIS WAS A NICE HOUSE. IT IS A BIT FAR OUT THAT THOUGH. KIDS ENJOYED FISHING AND KAYAKING ON THE LAKE. THE BUGS ARE CRAZY, SO CRAZY THEY ACTUALLY HAVE A BUG ZAPPER SITTING ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER. LOL. THEY DO HAVE A ELECTRONIC KEYPAD YOU USE TO LOCK /UNLOCK THE DOOR. I AM NOT A FAN OF THIS AS ON THE THIRD DAY IT WENT OUT AND WE WERE LOCKED OUT. I GOT A HOLD OF THE OWNER (VERY NICE LADY) AND SHE WAS ABLE TO HAVE HER SON UNLOCK FROM HIS PHONE. THEN WHEN WE LEFT AND CAME BACK FROM OUR DAY WE WERE ONCE AGAIN LOCKED OUT AS THE KEYPAD WAS NOT WORKING, AGAIN HAD TO CALL. THIS TIME AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS OF TRYING TO OPEN THEY TOLD US THEIR WAS A LOCK BOX WITH KEYS IN IT. I KNOW IT IS EASIER TO USE A KEYPAD AS YOU CAN CHANGE THE CODE AFTER EVERY GUEST BUT THE DOWNFALL IS WHEN IT GOES OUT. AFTER THE FIRST TIME WE HAD TO CALL WE MADE SURE TO MAKE IT BACK TO THE HOUSE EARLY IN CASE IT HAPPENED AGAIN AS WE WERE AFRAID IF WE GOT BACK LATE WE MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO GET A HOLD OF ANYONE AND BE LOCKED OUT. OVER ALL THE PROPERTY IS AS STATED AND WE HAD A GREAT TIME.
My husband and I wanted a last-minute getaway and invited another friends to join us. The place was clean, quiet and a perfect place to relax and unplug. We did not get out on the water because we went in the colder weather, but it was still very nice weekend
