This is an early 1900s guesthouse in a lake community originally built for weekend retreats from the “big cities” of Hartford and Torrington. Secret Lake was a community of weekend and summer retreats not far from traditional work places used by families in the earlymid 1900’s as their get-away havens without complicated travel to far way lands. The home had a fairly low ceiling with a loft above which I raised upon purchasing. Other than that, the architecture is original. Come enjoy how life used to be in classic mid century American times.

This home is centrally located, situated under a 30 minute drive to the UCONN Health Center, Hospital of Central Connecticut, Hartford Hospital, and St. Francis hospital in Hartford. Also just a 35 minute commute will bring you to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington!
✅ This property has special local compliance requirements which include a signed rental agreement, ID verification, and a security hold of $1000 (which is not a traditional security deposit, just a pending transaction). As an optional alternative to the security hold, you may opt in to purchase a non-refundable damage waiver provided by a third-party insurance company. The optional damage waiver is $50 for stays up to 10 nights, with an additional $2 per day for stays longer than 10 nights. Damage waiver purchases are optional.
