Stayed Sep 13, 2025Beautiful view of the ocean from the main living area. We loved walking the sandy path from the house to the beach. Our minor maintenance issues were resolved very quickly. We would rent this beach house again without doubt. Thank you for an amazing beach experience.

Stayed Jul 19, 2025This house was big enough for all of our family to have their own space. We had 8 adults and 4 kids and were not crowded. The distance to the beach is a bit of a hike, but with a private trail, makes it doable.

Stayed Jun 28, 2025We have stayed at Summer Splendor many times and the recent modern transformation of this property puts it in elite status. Exquisite detail is seen in every room and was carefully and elegantly envisioned and conceived by the owners creating a 5 star experience. Modern appliances and flat screen TVs adorn every room. The top floor has the most spectacular and unique panoramic view of the ocean with direct access to the beach via a private sandpath. This is truly a top notch Ocean view property at any Oceanside price. We have already booked our reservation for next summer!

Stayed Jun 14, 2025This house was not our favorite. The decor could definitely use some updates, the furniture was super dated, and my baby boomer parents spent the entire week laughing at the oversized, tacky plants and giant wooden horse relief sculpture in the dining room. Almost every plate and dish in the kitchen was chipped and the supplies in the kitchen should be replaced (or deep cleaned). Everything just seemed a little dirty and old. The master bedroom on the top floor was not much of a showstopper (to say the least) and the linens throughout the house were old and cheesy. The pool was super dirty with mulch and debris and the hot tub is positioned very close to the trash bins. The walk to the beach was fine for most of our party but definitely a hike for older members of our family, and a bit hazardous with cacti growing along the path. We've been vacationing in the Outer Banks for decades and at this price point, I would expect more modern updates.

Stayed Jun 14, 2025We had a fantastic week at Summer Splendor. The house is conveniently located right across the road from Harris Teeter, which was perfect for food and beverage runs throughout our stay. We were also happy to be in a community with a dedicated traffic light, since left turns onto NC-12 can be tough at certain times! The private path to the beach access was a huge asset for us (straight shot to the ocean and gorgeous views from the main living areas) and made our morning beach set-up a fun and easy outing. We rented beach chairs, umbrellas with anchors, and bicycles for the week and those items really enhanced our stay! The beach was relatively uncrowded during our week and we enjoyed the abundance of crabs that greeted us each day. The house itself is beautiful and well-maintained, with ample bedrooms and bathrooms for our family group, nice tile flooring throughout, modern TVs everywhere, and a huge kitchen that was stocked nicely. Both the pool and hot tub were great to have, and the outdoor seating areas and grill were super. If I could add one thing to this already-lovely home, it would be a hammock or porch swing for taking in the views. We had a great, relaxing stay at Summer Splendor!
