Summer Fun | Double-Decker Dock, Sunset Deck, Fire Pit

House was clean and comfortable with a gorgeous view of the lake and mountains. The dock was new and a great place to hang out. Already thinking about our next trip back!

The house was as expected. It suited our family well. We did not use the fireplace or laundry as it was a short stay. We did use all the bedrooms, the master and another were spacious. It was a very comfortable house. The wrap around decks and setting were spectacular. Definitely will rebook next year!!

We had a very quiet and relaxing weekend. More than enough cooking utensils and even sharp knives.

The lake views were amazing.

Great location, great views, fun family dock, responsive hosts enjoyed the kayaks and the lily pad and fire pit. Downstairs fridge was a nice surprise since we had a young family down there. We were amazed at how soundproofed it seemed. We didn’t hear our 6 month old grand daughter in the middle of the night. The upper deck was great, nice and wide and plenty of room for kids to play. Challenges: we expected the steps down to the dock given it is a mountain lake home. The drop off in the yard with no fence gave us anxiety with kids. We had planned on using the hammock area, but needed some TLC still after Helene. Also - internet - if you’re planning on working remotely, make sure you have a Plan B.We had great family time.

Another great year at the lake. Love the dock and the available slip for our boat. Plenty of room in the house. Great views. Our only issue is the kitchen. The cabinets and drawers are quite small and all the pots and pans are piled beneath the island. After a week, the stools around the island leave you wanting a regular chair to sit and eat. Relatively minor in the grand scheme of things and we try to maximize our time on the water while there. Thanks for having us.

This home enjoys a private lot in an excellent location. The well-maintained outdoor space, including the dock and stunning back porch views, was a highlight of our stay. However, we rated the property three stars due to its outdated interior and poorly maintained amenities. The master bathroom sink had no water, the bed mattress was old, stained, and uncomfortable, and the kitchen pots and pans were in poor condition. Additionally, the front burner on the stove was nonfunctional, and the gas grill was difficult to light, failing to sustain a flame for more than 60 seconds. We also discovered thick black mold on the washing machine’s door seal, accompanied by a foul odor. While we managed to clean enough to use the machine, it was an unpleasant task during a vacation. On a positive note, when we lost power midweek, the property management company was highly responsive, keeping us updated with Duke Energy’s progress.

Our stay was great. The property was just as advertised. I would say a little more hilly than I was expecting but nothing unusual for the area. The rooms were large and roomy and the beds and bedding comfortable. Certainly more than enough room for me, three of my adult kids and their significant others. Funny story, it took a whole to find the pots and pans but...that will live in family tales forever. My only advice is make sure and bring personal grooming needs: no shampoo/conditioner, no bar soap, one roll of tp for each room one roll of paper towels, and three garbage bags.... but that is very minor for how wonderful the place is and the view, and the peace and quiet.

What a great neighborhood and comfortable home for our annual reunion of 4 friends! Very private with terrific views of the lake. Spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds. We loved the exterior spaces...porches on both levels, with the bottom level protected from rain, firepit, and a two-story dock. Well-equipped kitchen, refrigerators on both levels, TVs for everyone!. Immediate response when host was notified of special lightbulbs needing replacement. Excellent experience!

We had a blast starting each morning fishing on the lake and ending the day by the fire pit. Lots of wildlife and not far from grocery store or food.

The property and home were very clean and cozy. The views were incredible. There was plenty of room for a family Christmas get together. We had a great time and made amazing memories!

Our family had a great visit for a long weekend trip. The house was nicely set up for different family members to have their own space. The kayaks and paddleboards provided were in great condition and plenty of life jackets in a variety of sizes were available. The firepit was very nice and seating was available for the whole family around the fire. There were two outside picnic tables and outdoor tables for enjoyment. It was a wonderful location for a relaxing weekend.

Good spot for large family

The house was prefect, the location was perfect. We created some great memories with our adult kids and grandkids. The swimming and fishing were a great, Lake James is beautiful. The stairs to the dock were a bit of a climb for the 76 year old grandparents, but provided some good exercise! The beds are comfortable, although some new sheets would be nice. Karen was wonderful to work with. We would rent again!!

The view of the lake was amazing and the outdoor space absolutely awesome!

Great layout for family with children - the adults stayed upstairs and the kids had the entire downstairs. Really great onsite items for a getaway - kayaks, paddle boards, grills, cookware, etc. Super convenient to Marina for boat or jet ski rental - we did a half day jet ski rental and it was super easy. All instructions and communication was very well organized. Our family lake getaway will be forever memorable!
