Sugar Bean Shack: Vibrant home with private pool

Very clean, beautiful home! The pool and hot tub were the best part! Close to the beach, calm & private neighborhood. We will be back!!

First time in OBX. The house was cozy and secluded and as advertised by the pictures. A short walk to the beach, great food and restaurants, and we did not have to wait at all. The house was private and set back and lined with trees.

This beach house was wonderful very clean the pool and hot tube was amazing. Very peaceful location this property even had beach chairs and tents for the beach. Walking distance to the beach great place to rent for the week.

My husband & I took the week to work from a different location. We enjoyed the beach, a bike ride & ate out during the week. This house was comfortable, clean & well appointed. Would stay again!

The Sugar Bean Shack has a lot to offer when it comes to staying in the Outer Banks. While it is not ocean front, it is a short walk to the nearest public boardwalk and the trees around the property help provide privacy. The pool and hot tub were highlights during our stay. They were both clean and the hot tub was overall functional, aside from a few water jets. The pool was surrounded by many comfortable seating options. There is no shortage of deck/balcony space, so you can enjoy a cup of coffee with different views each day. The bathrooms appear to be recently renovated with newer sinks and the showers water pressure is great. The couch in the living room was wonderful after a day out on the beach, not to mention all of the TV’s have a Roku so you can enjoy your favorite content. This is more of a nod towards Vacasa, but the addition of a coded lock is perfect. In my past travels to the Outer Banks, an in-person check in was required to gather keys and linens. The check in process was very quick and easy. We’ll definitely consider revisiting this cottage for future stays!

The house was lovely! Loved the heated pool and inflatable hot tub. It was just enough for 4 people. Very private. Although no ocean views, there was a 2 minute drive to the public access beach. The mudroom of the house was well stocked with beach chairs, umbrellas, an additional fridge and even a surfboard! ( we didn’t use it lol) The only qualm I would say would be the living room seating. For 4 people average height and weight, 3 people were able to sit on the couch and the other in a chair. Not very comfortable. But the house was very clean upon arrival and the communication was excellent. Would stay again!

The downstairs bed frame is made for a foot board and the long metal end was sticking out and hidden by the comforter and she hit it hard with her leg. She has a deep bruise. We sent a picture and it was going to be taken care of, but not. The floors haven't been mopped in a while, our feet and socks were black. The dishwasher did not work and we didn't have a sink stopper. Reported that and tech said he Googled and dishwasher couldn't be fixed, he brought back a stopper for sink. The right front eye on the stove has a short. You have to turn up full temp to get warm pan. Dishes previously put back on shelf were dirty. We had to clean before using. The location is great. We would stay again, but will re-read the policy of fee's and make sure all is up-to-date. The bed frame was the worst. The bruise is protruding out. But, I was informed it will be added to our ticket. But no response.

Kitchen had a ant and water bug(roaches) problem. Txted management company twice asking for property to be sprayed or treated. No results.

Had to battle them everyday and didn't received the person to spray. Pool and every thing else was ok.

We had a nice visit to Avon. The house was great. The location was great. Enjoyable stay.
