Experience the wonders of Martha's Vineyard at this bright island escape with a shared deck, a wonderful location within walking distance of Oak Bluffs' beaches, and shared amenities that include an outdoor pool and three Har-Tru clay tennis courts. Whether you're a first-time visitor to Martha's Vineyard or are returning for an annual vacation, you'll enjoy the simple charms of the lofty, air-conditioned living space. Whip up homemade blueberry pancakes in the open kitchen each morning, bring the newspaper outside to read on the deck, and grab your bathing suits for a day on the sand. The kitchen includes silverware, plates, cups, cooking pans, and utensils.
Return each afternoon to swim in the outdoor pool, take a lesson with the resort's tennis pro, or enjoy an alfresco lunch with your family on the sun-splashed pool deck. Back at the house, you'll have WiFi to share photos of the day's greatest hits, a fireplace to take off the evening chill, and a cable TV for fun-filled movie nights with the kids.
This two-level home is located at The Island Inn on Martha's Vineyard, a five-acre property one mile south of downtown Oak Bluffs. Spend your vacation swimming and sunbathing at Joseph Sylvia State Beach (half a mile south) and Inkwell Beach (one mile north), practice your drive at the adjacent Farm Neck Golf Club, and stroll into downtown Oak Bluffs to shop, dine, and ride the historic Flying Horses carousel.
Other amenities include shared washers/dryers, a picnic and barbecue area, as well as a firepit area. Tennis courts, plus racquets, and ball rentals are available at the Pro Shop. Tennis is available from May 15th through October. There is also a lovely on-site restaurant that is unaffiliated with the Island Inn.

The property is in a great location - very easy walk to Oak Bluffs and along the main road heading down to Edgartown. Check in and out was easy and the pool is a nice plus, though having cushions on the chaises might be more comfortable for guests. Right next door is a very loud (at night) restaurant/bar, but on the plus side, it makes grabbing a nighttime drink or light bite super convenient. Not connected to the hotel property. The bedsheets could use a refresh, as they were quite pilled and uncomfortable. Plenty of towels and the balcony (in the back, looking toward the pool) is the best spot (for building G), nice and quiet and peaceful in the early morning with your coffee.
Good value. Central location. About 10 minute from Ferry by car or 30 min by walking. Place is pretty barebones but if you’re eating out, no worries. Cleaners came in each day to clean which was great. Best was it was next to an Nomans bar. We also stored luggage before and after checking in/out.
We enjoyed the stay at The Island Inn. Location and property is beautiful and well maintained. Great space inside with a few issues. Drains are very slow which make the bathtubs and showers back up. regularly you stand in two to three inches of water. the air conditioning units had a musty smell and triggered asthma reactions in three of the four visitors in our party.
We stayed in unit 46G at the Island Inn in Oak Bluffs. All stairs no elevators so be mindful of your mobility limits, arm strength carrying items to your room, and physicality because there are three sets of stairs to access the unit. The ceiling fan didn’t work in the bedroom on the main floor. They did bring a fan but should have repaired the ceiling fan for guests. The tub didn’t drain well so there was a ring of body cells and debris after each person showered that we had to use towels to remove EVERYDAY - it was DISGUSTING!!! The maintenance man came advised he tried to clear the drain with his hand not liquid plumber or a snake tool….just his hand. He said the reason for the poor drainage was high usages during the summer months. It was bizarre and DISGUSTING! The screen to the deck wouldn’t open so we couldn’t get out on patio until late afternoon the second day we arrived because the screen was off track and stuck and the maintenance man was unable to access the screen room because an event was happening the first day we arrived. The island was sold out during our stay otherwise we would have moved. The place needs serious upkeep but the staff was nice so that’s why they received 3 stars and not 1 star.
Wonderful stay. Staff was ever helpful.
This is a perfect place for a quick stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful. For example, were down to our last drop of sunscreen and the tennis pro shared hers with us. The grounds are great to relax. The restaurant next door has a great casual vibe.
Communication through the Vrbo site was poor but if you call them directly they were quick to respond. Pool is a little cold but kids still loved it. Overall great open area and relaxing.
Great location, lots of room, great property with fun restaurant, very clean and comfortable.
Well furnished, but we can hear the footsteps from the room above (which is part of the unit so no big deal). But we can also hear the neighbours next to this unit. Please think about changing the pans when there are scratches as this material is dangerous when migrate to the food.
We went for a wedding we had on the island. For the next people coming; the only thing I can think of is they need to have a good hair dryer in the room. Also I didn’t realize there is no shower in the upstairs bedroom. There was an iron and board that we needed so that was good .
Unit was clean which is always my primary concern. Kitchen was small but serviceable. Found it relatively dim. I guess if you like “mood” lighting it’s perfect. 2nd floor was accessed via a spiral staircase so large suitcases would be difficult to move upstairs. We stayed here to participate in the marathon. It’s less than a mile from the finish so location was great.
