Morro Bay, California
Kick back and relax from this stylish Morro Bay home. The views from our home are lovely- Pacific Ocean, Morro Rock, even whale watching! If you enjoy the beach or perhaps surfing, there is a large HEATED outdoor shower to enjoy upon your return from the ocean, as well as racks for your surfboard or wakeboard.
Listen to the ocean waves, the sea lions, or the fog horn from one of the three decks.
A spacious, comfortable home with a well equipped kitchen and other comforts of home.
The space
The main living area, kitchen, dining, and master suite (with king bed) are upstairs, to enjoy the views. There is also an additional half bath upstairs. Our kitchen is well equipped for cooking. The living room is well equipped with books (including local guides), games, and puzzles.
Downstairs there are two additional bedrooms, one has a queen size bed, and the other can either be an additional bedroom OR an office- there is a large and comfortable desk, as well as a queen size murphy bed. When the bed is pulled down, desk access would be tight- but you could put the bed up in the morning to use the desk if needed. Additionally, downstairs is another full bathroom with shower/tub and the laundry area.
Outdoors- there are three decks: the large upstairs deck has a seating area, 2 chaise lounges, and a propane BBQ grill. Off of the master suite, there is a smaller deck with seating and views of the rolling hills- maybe even the cows and horses that graze nearby. Downstairs, off of the office/3rd bedroom- there is another deck with seating and an outdoor firepit. Also outside, there is a large outdoor dining table downstairs. The yard has a mature lemon tree that produces fruit year-round, and raised beds with culinary herbs.
From our home- depending on the time of year, weather, and luck- you might see the whales feeding along the shore- sometimes I look up while in the kitchen and boom- they are there. Other times, you will hear the sea lions barking, the ocean roaring, perhaps the fog horn sounds, or maybe the frogs after rains.
The neighborhood:
From our house, you can walk to a well stocked grocery store, several restaurants, and the rarely crowded beach (beach is about a 1 mile walk since you have to cross Highway 1). You can bike to downtown Morro Bay or the Embarcadero. Within a 20 minute drive, you can find San Luis Obispo, Cambria, and Montana de Oro State Park with its extensive hiking trails and secluded beaches. Go just a little further to enjoy Avila Beach or Pismo Beach, or north to Hearst Castle in San Simeon. Within 30-40 minutes, find yourself in the Paso Robles wine country. We are centrally located near these amazing places, and you can easily explore for weeks without getting bored.
Walking distance from our house is a great community park (Del Mar) with a playground, dog park, tennis and pickleball courts, basketball courts, and picnic area.
Getting around
Easy driveway and street parking. We can leave a couple of bikes if you want to cruise around that way.
We won’t have a LOT of reviews as we live in the home most of the year and only do month long rentals, please don’t let a small number of reviews worry you.
