Welcome to Historic Shore Cottage set in a fantastic location near the beach where you'll be welcomed by big skies and the moving waters of the Puget Sound. Located on a narrow sandspit, your days will be enhanced by passing sailboats, gulls and cranes dining on the beach just 20 feet from yourliving room, or sea lions and orcas swimming by in the cool waters.

This historic cottage was one of three originally built back in 1941 as a shack to store fishing nets. Almost all of the materials used in its construction likely came from the supply of discarded packing crates at the naval shipyard in nearby Bremerton where work was being done to support the war effort. Everything here is original, there are no frills. This is a perfect place to relax, read, write, draw, or take relaxing walks through the neighborhood or along the beach out front where you can collect shells, toss footballs, build sand castles, or just marvel at the many sights.

This truly distinctive home is comfortable and rather unique, not only in its origins, but also its furnishings which are mainly antiques from the 1940s and 1950s from designers such as George Nelson, Charles and Rae Eames, and Alvo Aalto.

When you want to get out and explore, a corner coffee shop is just minutes away, while the charming main street is just a bit farther with a grocery store, restaurants, clothing stores, and a bookshop. It's also just a 30-minute ferry ride to Seattle, or you can take the ferry to the exciting shopping, dining, and museums that await you north in Victoria, BC.

Location, location, location! What did we see here? Mt. Rainier from the back deck/porch, a beautiful full moon rising over Puget Sound, seals swimming by every morning and evening, an eagle perched on the edge of its nest a one minute walk down the road. We loved this place for its homey, relaxing vibe!

Super cute place. Very quiet. More comfortable seating, especially outside would be good. Rooms have no sound proofing if people have different sleep schedules.

Our family had a wonderful time at the cottage. Lots of character and the views are hard to beat. It was a great central location for us on our trip in the Puget Sound area. It was the perfect size and room layout for our family of four with two boys, ages 11 and 7. We would definitely stay there again.

This is an authentic 1940's fishing shack right on the water. It was clean & comfortable & fun to watch all the wildlife & boats. Needs new slider screen, updated tv and some more silverware. Other than that, it was as described.

My 2 adult children and I came here for spring break. It is the perfect quiet getaway. We gathered sea glass and enjoyed the beach walks. The restaurants and shops in town were fun. We all loved it here and would come back again!

Property is in a beautiful quiet location. Right on the water with abundant sea life viewing opportunities. We saw seals, porpoise and many different kinds of birds. Adults and kids really enjoyed the stay. A few minor cleaning issues involving some dirty dishes and a blanket with an odor. I was a little concerned about some sagging roof panels in the main bedroom area. We would stay here again.

Beware of things if you bring the littles. As advertised, this is an old fishing cottage/shack.

Absolutely loved the authentic beach cottage. It brought back memories of my childhood staying in old beach cottages on the Washington coast. I liked the minimalist furnishings and the clean white bedding that with the grey throws, everything was in keeping with the vibe of an old beach cottage. Loved it ! Then there was being right on the beach, walking down steps right into the water for a swim. We saw lots of seals and an Eagle. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is ok with a funky authentic historic cottage.

The view is what you get with this place. We had beautiful weekend weather so being out doors was nice. Make sure to bring your own outdoor chairs. The neighborhood is nice and friendly. Low tide walking was wonderful. Wildlife spotted, Caspian terns, eagle visits, cranes, seagulls and a few sea otter sightings.

Our family adored your little house!!. The sea glass and the shells that's left after a high tide is awesome!!. This property is awesome for taking your family on a little vacation to get away from the craziness that we all love in these days. I am a pretty picky person when it comes to having privacy and safety for my family and this place has all of that!. My only suggestion is that if your looking for shiny and new this is definitely not the place for you. But if your a family looking to get away and unwind definitely make this a stop on your journey to sanity! My family will be back thanks for sharing your unique house on the beach!!.

The beds were very comfy and water pressure was good in shower. The view was wonderful. But the condition of the house - especially the kitchen - was very disappointing.
