Jill's place was the perfect setting for our (very) small wedding. Several family members and friends stayed on-site in the days leading up to the wedding, and there was plenty of room to spend time together in the great room or out on the deck and for folks to spread out and have some space to themselves. I know the area well, and you'd be hard-pressed to find a lovelier setting.
Our family met here for a quiet New Year's Eve celebration. We had a wonderful time! The property is beautiful and peaceful. The home is welcoming and comfortable. I highly recommend it!
Loved this place! My 8 year old granddaughter summed it up when we got there, wow this place is cool.. Everyone love the house, amenities and location. We would love to do a family get together again there again.
This house is gorgeous! We had 4 small families at the house for our Christmas weekend and it worked out perfectly. The teenagers used the apartment and the rest of us had our own beds in the lodge. Plenty of space, everything was in great condition, and the place was decorated very nicely for Christmas. We spent a few hours in Quincy, but really enjoyed the acreage around us and the ability to stay in and enjoy our time together. Thanks for a great stay - we plan to book it again!
The house and property are breathtaking!!! We were in Quincy for a wedding. We hated leaving the property. We wish we could have stayed longer.

The architecture was absolutely exceptional. Kitchen so well stocked including spices and herbs left by previous visitors. View from back deck quite open and beautiful. Very open sitting room on each of the three floors. Quiet. Wonderful place to get away from it all, but great internet if so inclined. Hint: when arriving from I172 you will follow GPS to a limestone road. Travel ~1.4 miles on that road. Keep your eyes to the left. Driveway to the house is just after 2 grey silos.
We rented this property to reconnect with family and celebrate my parents’ 50th anniversary. We loved that it was really isolated yet only a half hour from Hy-Vee. The layout was fantastic. We were all able to go to different parts of the lodge when we needed some alone time, and the main living area comfortably fit the 10 of us. Each of the four bedrooms had a dedicated bathroom, which was convenient. Also, no one had to take a cold shower, so kudos to the water heater! The kitchen had just about everything we needed to prepare our meals. We brought our own games, but puzzles, dominoes, and such were provided. There is a paddle boat and picnic table at the pond. Internet was strong, cellular was spotty (Verizon and US Cellular), and TV service was Pluto. Last leg of the drive is gravel road, which wasn’t a big deal to us but others might like to know. Beautiful scenery (watch out for deer)!
Well stocked pond, plenty of deer sightings, songbird serenades with coffee every morning. Remote, quiet, and spacious. My family loved the property and the entire experience. We will return.
We had a short weekend getaway and had a wonderful time. The property is gorgeous, the home was clean and well kept, beds were comfortable and we had everything we needed. The owner was very responsive when we needed help with directions.
This was a lovely home in a beautiful rural setting. The home was clean with a well stocked kitchen. The only drawback was the gravel road without address or signage to identify the home.
We stayed here last time we came to the area. This place is amazing! Jill is awesome to work with! The views are amazing, the cabin is so relaxing. Has everything you need and to never leave during your stay. This is a must stay place for a weekend or a week!
The lodge is nothing short of amazing. Very clean, great decor, quiet, well stocked as advertised. The layout and views are magnificent. Deer in the fields below and amazing sunset views. Jill reached out before and after check in to make sure everything was ok. Host communication was nothing less than 5 star. The pride in ownership is very apparent given how well everything is maintained and presented. Our trip was very relaxing and quiet. We hope to stay there again.
Our group of 5 adults and 3 children loved our stay at the cottage. We found it very clean and well-stocked with towels, extra blankets, etc. We were especially impressed with the kitchen, which we all agreed was one of the best we'd encountered at a rental; it had everything we needed for cooking meals of all kinds. There was plenty of room indoors and outdoors for the kids' rambling, and we all appreciated the grounds with pond, firepit and nearby creek, all in the context of quiet, remote surroundings-- mostly farmland. We could all gather comfortably in the Great Room or split up to have time to ourselves in the bedrooms, sprawling upstairs porch, downstairs patio and basement bar/sitting area. Jill communicated well with us before and after the visit and encouraged us to contact her during if we needed anything, which we didn't. Great stay all-around, and the star-gazing and paddle boating were bonus treats.
Wonderful!
