Stayed Dec 13, 2025Kitchen was great. House was great (master bedroom - excellent). My family had a few complaints that they wish there was closet space/drawers in the other rooms to unpack clothing. Location was very walkable around Bankers Hill. Had a GREAT dinner at Cucina Urbana - just a 10 min walk up the hill, a good lunch at the tap house across the street (and 2 nearby breweries), and a longer - but doable - walk to Balboa Park. My son LOVED his bunk room (great beds that even an adult would enjoy), and his room was decorated with a zoo of stuffed animals. Really nice touch while we were away from home. He absolutely loved it.My only complaint (and it wasn't really a complaint for us because our 5yo LOVES airplanes, was the house was directly under the flight path.) Even with the windows closed, the planes were loud. You got used to it after a while, and the location/house made up for the noise, but it did both my parents a bit.I would still recommend - and I'd stay here again! (Plus the short 5-min drive to the airport was great.)

Stayed Jul 22, 2025We were lucky to stay at this beautiful property during our annual comic-con trip. We had a large group and we were easily able to accommodate everyone. Beautiful, clean and close to the convention center. Rick was also a great host. Highly recommended!

Stayed Jul 2, 2025Beautiful home! We stayed in the main house, which is the front portion shown in the photos. What we didn’t realize at first was that the back of the house is sublet to other tenants. They were quiet and respectful, but I did hear footsteps one night while I was home alone and momentarily thought the place was haunted...until I remembered they were staying in the back! lol. I will be back! This place was great!

Stayed Apr 10, 2025Conveniently located to the best food and entertainment spots. If you’re a light sleeper, the planes flying overhead may present a bit of a problem. But it’s a great property.

Stayed Nov 23, 2024Wonderful house with a great kitchen to gather with friends. Comfortable rooms, with big bathrooms, and cozy features. Wish the stove worked better, and wish the kitchen had scissors. Loved the games and the yard. A little noisy at night with the loft space but overall a great place in a wonderful neighborhood. Walked to balboa park too!

Stayed Nov 26, 2024Many positives! However there is no common bathroom on second floor. Bunk bed room shares with master and queen bed has its own bathroom. The last bedroom has to walk into the other bedrooms and past beds to get to a bathroom or go downstairs. Not ideal for everyone but might be okay if you are aware of the situation. The host did make it right by us by adding the penthouse which is beautiful!!!!! The only other peculiarity is the outside area with hot tub is not directly connected so you leave the front door and go down a couple of steps into the front patio. And pets are not allowed to do their business there which makes the area nice and clean but I was hoping to be able to let my dog outside easily. The fireplaces in the picture show lovely warm fires burning but due to insurance concerns they can not be used. Again not deal breakers but should be disclosed in the initial posting. Host is very quick to respond, place is immaculate, beds super comfortable and well stocked kitchen items made for a nice stay!

Stayed Sep 8, 2024This home was in a nice, safe, and quiet location easily accessible to the convention center and downtown. We served several adults with meals in the kitchen. The appliances are a bit dated but all work fine. There were enough plates, bowls, utensils, wine glasses, coffee cups, for all of us. There were planty of pots, pans, cooking sheets also. We cooked meals at the house for breakfast and supper to save us time eating out when we were there for a convention and had many meetings with clients during the day. Coffee was even provided along with sugar packets. (BRING CREAMER). There were plenty of clean towels and the washer and dryer was very convenient. There was no closet space in 2 of the bedrooms but we worked it out. The HVAC units are mini-splits so each room can have it's on setting. One of the units malfunctioned during our stay but the owner had a repair guy the next day! Great service. Overall, 5 stars for a great experience. The only real negative was the bunkbed room has NO AC at all and it was sweltering hot in there. And there are no electrical outlets to plug in a fan. It was a heat wave when we were there and I felt sorry for the teammate who was bunking in that room...she suffered. P.S. Use the San Diego CIRCUIT service for very inexpensive taxi service. $5 ($2.50 for one) for rides all over downtown. They don't come to the house but stop right at the I5 overpass. You can walk to the house from the stop, only a couple of blocks. For groceries=VONS

Stayed Jun 26, 2024This was my family and I's first time in California. The property was a great location from the convention center as well as other towns we wanted to visit. When it came to communication before, during, and after our stay, Ricardo was great! The home took a little while to cool down but once it did, we were all very comfortable. The only slight issues were the water pressure within the showers and the sockets within the walls of the bedrooms. The sockets were all very far away so we weren't able to plug in our phones comfortably to charge and sit on the end tables. The neighborhood was pretty quiet and we had no issues with neighbors. Overall, it was a very wonderful stay and if my family and I visit California again, we'll definitely reach out to Ricardo! He was a great host to work with!
