Stunning Lakeview cottage perfect for a getaway

For a house of 5 bedrooms the kitchen had pots and pans that belong in the garbage, not one was decent to cook a family meal. the plates are chipped. the fire alarm kept going off the vent did not work. the Jacuzzi tub jets are dirty. the floor vents for the heat disgusting. most of the doors are do not work they are issues with them. there was no answer from owner asking where he kept the fire wood or where we can get some. We bought our own after we finally found a place. Girlfriend said her pillow smelled like a man and rewashed her sheets. the sink stopper in the kitchen sink was not for that sink and did not stop any of the water. the freezer had no handle to open the door on the fridge. the pillows on the couches also smelled and dirty. the hot tub outside was wonderful but with a view of the lake we were in a box. the upstairs doors to the patio was also broken could not use the door. the pictures did not show all the cement break wall that is there now and it is a eye sore and not very pretty. the deck itself needs work and pain as it is a mess. there are camera's on the house also. invasion of privacy. the hall long light was disgusting dirty all the crystals are grimy and needs to be clean with the spiders hanging from it. I wish I took pictures to show all of these things that need improvement of the house. Beautiful house with donated decor. there was also garbage and tools and curtains and several Raid cans in the kitchen cupboards. not appropriate. TY

Overall, we had a terrific time at the house. There are a few things that really need addressing before you would reach an excellent rating. The outside of the building facing the lake is in a terrible state, it needs a complete freshening up including repairs to the deck surface. A proper and safer way to access the beach would also be very welcome. We were unable to light the gas BBQ, we could smell the gas but it would not ignite. The striker mechanism did not work at all. Inside, the shower in the master bathroom could not be turned on, just the tub. The controls on the gas stove in the kitchen were difficult to use and very imprecise. The oven took a long time to heat up. You have a terrific place there but it needs to have some updating and some cosmetic work done before I would consider renting again. Oven wouldn't hold temp. Can opener broken. No measuring spoons or cups. Back deck in bad state of repair. Could only seat 6 at a small kitchen table. Outside needs power washed. Window screens all ripped. Lots of spiders in the house.

Great lake front property. Quiet area. Lovely large house. Kitchen Island great for entertaining. A must stay location, if looking for a nice relaxing place to stay.

Lake house is in an area that looks to be having some problems with erosion so large cement blocks cover land half way between deck and lake. Nice covered hot tub but it was full of sand so must not have been cleaned for our rental.No cable tv so ya need to have yer own to watch live tv.Bbq not very good would only heat up t

I have given a strong rating to this orooerty as it was very comfortable for 5 couples who were in the area for a wedding.

The house was a great layout for what we were looking for (6 adults and 4 children), and came with everything we needed. The view is beautiful as well, and the owner was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Quiet area and short drive into town.

Never been to this pet of the province and the location was amazing the owners underplay the majesty of Lake Ontario in the back yard Please come and relax and watch and listen. It’s a great location

In the foyer a once lovely chandelier, is dirty/tangled. Up stairs a large dead plant. The windows in the bedrooms do not have screens but a note indicating not to open. The balcony door had a note, not to open one side. It is full of old dead bugs/spiderwebs. The love seat is broken, chairs dirty. Inside the house is reasonably clean. The caulking around the sink in the main bathroom /kitchen have turned brown. The doors out to the deck, dirty with note not to open one side. The window in the kitchen that could be opened, was blown down by the wind twice. The deck paint is peeling different colors, some of the boards are warped and rotting. The deck chairs, dirty. The enclosure for the hot tub is like the balcony, full of old dead bugs/spiderwebs. The hot tub was used once by one of the adults, he found the water got cool after awhile, no one used it after that. The BBQ took a long time to get to 400 but would not go higher. The bricks on the fire pit where somewhat shuffled, it was full of ashes, we cleaned it but only used once. The games room was locked, from the window it looked more like a storage room with boxes and other things scattered around. The oven was dirty, you had to turn in on/off several times before it worked. To my family, I say, you are amazing, I love you, it is awesome whenever we can get together. To the owner I say, you should be ashamed of yourself for posting picture that do not accurately reflect the current condition of the cottage. Won't be back

As I said, do NOT stay at this property. Had a friend vacation here and upon arrival, had to clean for 45 minutes to make sure it was suitable for guests. Crushed up food on the ground, crumbs, cheese, etc. left in the fridge, dirt crusted inside refrigerator drawers, sand in the sheets, dirty used bandaids and tampons in the garbage, food crusted in drawers and I could go on. The host was responsive to my messages but gave no solutions. He agreed to give us back ONLY 3% of what we paid to stay here which was less than the cleaning fee (which he did share with me and our reimbursement was $50 less than the cleaner fee). Do not stay here unless you want to feel dirty the entire time.
