Stayed Aug 2, 2025The house is fantastic! Everything was as described. Check in was flawless with Greg helping along the way! Kitchen was very well stocked, even with spices! Beds were comfortable. Lakeside was so lovely and view from house likewise. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out and do their own thing! The Big Bass Lake offerings were great too. We went to the beach and the pool and the kids played paddleball. Finally, the daily visits by the baby deer were a family favorite!

Stayed Aug 16, 2025Great place, this was our second time as a group and perfect for our two families with kids. Especially loved the boats and outdoor space for grilling, meals on the deck and fire pit.

Stayed Aug 9, 2025I don’t always write reviews for travel businesses mostly because I lack the time and 90% of the places I go with my family meet the ratings already made by others. I’m writing this review because I felt that the rating given by others was somewhat inflated based on our experience. Lake: While the house has a lovely view of a small lake, nowhere in the advertising is it mentioned that lake access by the house is covered with algae and aquatic plants. Also, the lake bottom feels like quicksand because of how quickly you sink. Not an issue for adults, but not an ideal swimming hole for little kids. Community pass: The house is part of a community association, which gets you access to many nice amenities. The beach on Big Bass Lake was much more kid-friendly for laketime than the lake by the house. And our kids also liked the pool and tennis/pickleball courts. What is not disclosed in the listing is the cost to use the community facilities, which is 30/person for a week, and the community association only does weekly passes from Friday to Thursday, which cost us extra. Other minor things: The blankets for the beds are very thin and lacking in comfort and/or warmth. Linens/towels are not included and cost 200/week to rent. We ran out of propane while in the middle of grilling dinner and had to restock propane. Lastly, the community association polices the speed limit at a gestapo-level and you will receive a 150 fine for going even 1mph over the 25mph limit.

Stayed Jul 12, 2025We had an amazing time here. The house was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for our large group. We loved all of the outside spaces and how easy it was to get down to the water. The dock was nice and the lake was perfect. I was impressed with how well the host communicated information before our trip and his availability during our trip. Everything was perfect, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Stayed Jul 19, 2025We take a lake house vacation every year as a family. This one definitely checked all of the boxes. From a beautiful house with so much space, to a fun filled dock area for tubing and boating, and a perfect firepit area for nightly s'mores. We really enjoyed all of what this property had to offer and our host, Greg, was super attentive and helpful.

Stayed Jun 28, 2025Terrific property for our extended large family vacation! (9 adults, 1 toddler, 2 infants). Large common area on the middle floor was perfect for gathering together, playing with the kids, and talking. Excellent and well supplied kitchen allowed 2-3 preparers. Huge dining table allowed all of us to eat together, with enough chairs for all of the adults! Our 4 year old grandson loved the upstairs loft for hiding and playing. The master bedroom on that level is huge and nicely private, with a large en suite. Two bedrooms and a bath out of the way on the middle floor, and two more downstairs on the lower floor allowed people to get some privacy when they needed it. Another gathering spot on the lower floor was great for smaller gatherings. Property is wooded and private, with a nice little beach and dock area on the water., The kayaks and canoe got a lot of use, and the fire pit got some use a couple of nights, weather permitting. All in all we could not have asked for a better location!Greg is one of the best owners I have dealt with over the years (and I have dealt with many) - excellent communication, quick to respond to questions, and outstanding availability before, during, and after our stay. He is truly interested in making sure that you have a great stay! This house and owner get my highest recommendation!

Stayed Jun 14, 2025This is our 3rd time staying at this house and each time has been a pleasure for me and my extended family (ages 2-70). Greg, the owner is always pleasant and prompt with his emails. The house itself is beautiful, comfortable for our 11 people, and always clean. For my family the best parts of this rental were the decks, the boats (kayaks, canoe and paddle boat), the dock, the small beach for the youngest, the comfortable house, the quiet street for my grandsons to bike and skateboard on, the wildlife sightings (deer, rabbits, bear, woodpeckers and river otters) and the proximity to Goldsboro State Park. Hope to go back again.

Stayed Jul 27, 2024This is a lovely house and setting for a family vacation. The house is clean, well organized and perfectly situated on a quiet, shallow lake. The small sand beach in front of the house provided a nice place for my young grandsons to safely play in the water. No luck fishing but the kayaks and the paddle boat were being used each day. There were 11 of us comfortably enjoying the house, the lake and the nearby state parks. This is our second year renting this house, so you know I would recommend it.

Stayed Jul 6, 2024Nice house, quiet neighborhood, nice for evening walks with toddlers to look at deer. Cleaning crew needs to do a better job. Renters should be aware that lake is not a swimmable lake, shallow and lots of vegetation. Will need to purchase amenities pass and go to beach and pool which are very nice.

Stayed Jun 29, 2024We love this house and have rented it three out of the last four years (one year we were not fast enough and it was gone!). It's the best house in BBL for the price. Greg is an excellent host. He is extremely thorough and very reliable. We rent this house with another family, and there is plenty to keep our six teenage boys entertained. Highly recommended!

Stayed Jun 16, 2024Just from the start, the owner of this property was so kind, he made a point to reach out before our stay just to make sure he could answer any questions we had. Like how cool is that?! When you arrive to this beautiful house, that has a fully stocked kitchen, so much room you almost don’t know what to do with, sitting perfectly near the water.. you truly will be on aw of it. It was clean, welcoming and comfortable. We will definitely be back!!!
