I feel conflicted leaving some negative feedback but i felt i needed to. The most egregious issue was the pornography comics in the living room. Glad we intercepted thst before our 4 kids did. Also there were only 2 bath towels despite the advervisemnent for 6 people. There were dead bug carcasses everywhere and dead and crumbling flowers on the main table suggesting not a very good cleaning job. Lastly, understand a 4x4 and chains are needed for the car but the ice rink in front of the front door is likely a lawsuit waiting to happen. Otherwise its a beautiful and very unique cabin, its just not maintained well enough

The property has the potential of being excellent but unfortunately there were a few maintenance items that prevented the property from reaching the potential it should.

when we checked in, the Wi-Fi was not active. We had to drive down the road to try to find cell service to be able to even call guest services. There are security cameras that point into the house without curtains. So anyone could be spying on you at any time. We left. When we called guest services, they were not helpful until we escalated. The person was like, well I can’t really do anything about the cameras. And then she said, no one‘s going to be spying on you. Even though the cameras were active and pointed into the house. This place is a problem.

The property location, the layout and the amenities are nice. There are somethings that affected our stay and we tried to work with the Vacasa service to have them resolved but nothing was done. There were wasps in the two smaller bedrooms. One of our family members is allergic to wasps. We asked them to send someone to address it so we could use the rooms and we were told my vacasa that the owners didn’t want wasp spray used so there was nothing they could do. So we couldn’t use the small room. There was a pull out couch in the living room which was in good condition but it meant having to do and undo the bed daily which we were trying to avoid by renting a place with enough bedrooms. When we first arrived one of the lightbulbs went out leading up the steps to the upstairs. I asked Vacasa if they could come change it. They said they would and no one ever came. Last - the second night, the bed frame in the master bedroom collapsed. We were able to put it back together but we then felt like we had to be super careful in how we slept in the bed for the rest of the visit. It was clear the bed frame was already worn and repaired in places. It was fairly well cleaned. There was some mouse poop next to bed in the master bedroomOverall, cool place but don’t expect any help with issues that arise. The service tries to be friendly and helpful but they hVe zero info on the location and even if they say the “local team” will come to help, there is no follow through.

Great place. Clean and comfortable. Nicely stocked kitchen with newer appliances. Sauna was amazing. Had 10 inches of snow one morning and it was fully plowed by 7am!

We enjoyed our stay. AWD is a must for the driveway. The number of security cameras around the property is uncomfortable.

My boyfriend and I (and our dog) really enjoyed this place. It’s on a quiet road, tucked up into a woodsy hill which gives the feeling of being secluded, while in actuality not being far from a main road. The listing is pretty accurate; the house is absolutely covered in windows, which allows for plenty of fresh air and natural light. The master bed is super comfortable, and the master bathroom is really nice too. I was a little apprehensive about the lack of air conditioning, but there is a unit in the master, and it was comfortable even without it most nights with the cool air coming in from the windows we had open. The living room ceiling fans are a great help too when it’s warm out. We made great use of the grill and deck. Other reviewers are right about the water pressure, but it’s certainly not a deal breaker. The only minor complaints I have are I wish there was guest access to a vacuum- a longer stay with a shedding dog equals tons of hair and it would’ve been nice to be able to tidy up. Also, there were no instructions as to where to put our trash bags, so we had to keep any full bags out on the screened porch. No big deal, just worth noting if you’re staying for more than a few days. Overall, we would recommend this property to anyone looking for a beautiful place to hang out.

We loved staying in the Newfane home! I was a bit worried at 1st from reading the reviews but it was great. The house was nice and cozy. The sauna and steam tub were AMAZING. We really enjoyed the quiet and we were so close to such great restaurants. We would love to come back!

Great place for a trip to Stratton/Mt. Snow with a few friends! Definitely a cool space with a lot of character. Smaller second and third bedrooms (full beds) and lower water pressure but to be expected with a remote cottage for a ski weekend.
