Stayed Oct 1, 2024This property is a great option for visiting the north and centre of the island. If you're considering it then presumably you've already decided you don't want to stay in the horrors that are Corralejo or Calete de Fuste and this place just outside Lajares is ideal. El Cotillo and the incredible dunes south of Corralejo are a short drive away and the various museums in the centre of the island as well as the lovely town of Betancuria are less than an hour. It's about 90 minutes to get to Sotavento in Jandia so that's maybe too far. The property is very quiet, a couple of problems we had were swiftly fixed and it was very comfortable. The kitchen is sparsely equipped but we managed to cook reasonably well for ourselves for 10 days. The internet connection is good and with the right kit you can get Netflix or whatever on your phone and cast to the TV.

Stayed Feb 10, 2024We like the peace & quiet, it really doesn’t get much better than this. Absolutely silent at night. Almost no light pollution either giving lovely views of the stars. The house is small but perfect for 2, with everything you need, comfortable settee & bed. Nice little kitchen with just enough pots & pans etc. fridge with ice box, cooker & hob, we found it had everything we needed. The pretty little garden is south facing and very private. Easy 15 min drive to a number of beaches, or walk from the house round the volcano you can see from the kitchen window. All in all a lovely place, in a great location. Very highly recommended.

Stayed Mar 4, 2020The villa is tucked away in a small gated development, giving a secure location, but within easy reach of the town of Lajares with it's restaurants, bars and supermarket. There is plenty of parking at the villa, with even a small garage, to keep the car out of the sun. Our car was however rather large and so this facility wasn't usable for us. The villa is built of volcanic rock, which we found added to the feeling of being away from it all. Having said that, the villa was well equipped and perfectly suited to a couple or 3 people, if you used the sofabed. There was adequate hot water for everyday use. Due to the waste water constraints, toilet paper could not be flushed and needed to be place in a bin after use. This is a bit of a niggle, but having stayed on other properties in the area, not unusual. The garden is laid out with cactus and succulents in the main and there is a large deep hole in the garden accessed via a series of steps. Once there you will find a table and 2 chairs, a fig tree and a barbeque. In the patio area are sunloungers, a sofa, easy chair and another table and chairs, which were ideal to sit at with your bowl of cereals and a coffee! One feature I must mention is the toilet seat! It's bright red! I loved it, but forgot to photograph it. At night, don't be surprised to spot a friendly gecko patroling in the kitchen. All in all, we loved the place and will probably return sometime in the future.

Stayed Jan 7, 2019If you want a white sharp modernist house double glazed, sealed and insulated from the countryside this NOT for you. If you like lava rock solid houses but with modern kitchen / bathroom facilities in a quiet peaceful area, this IS FOR YOU!!! This is a cosy and comfortable little house with upcycled furniture, original artwork and lovely styling touches. We loved it!!! The bed is very comfortable, kitchen well equipped with full sized oven and hob, kettle, coffee maker, toaster and great sofa in lounge area. If you love the outdoors, the garden and decking area with comfy seating and unique BBQ area in the excavated pit are great. A wonderful place to sit and relax in the sun and pass the quiet evenings. The WiFi was great and is fast enough for Netflix (on your own device) if you feel the need. TV mostly German speaking channels a few French and the odd English speaking news channel. The local area is tremendous for walking and cycling and exploring, you must do the volcanos walking area behind the house with ridge walks and a walk to a crater, the views of the coast and of Lanzarote are stunning. Lajares itself is a really interesting community with surf shops, bars and cafes and a supermarket. It is a very convenient location for exploring this end of the island and feels a million miles away from more touristy Correlejo, but if you need a tourist fix and more shops its only 10mins by car. El Cotillo 10 mins the other way remains still a lovely place with great bars, restaurants, beaches and lagoons. Philipe is there if you need him for any help or advice but otherwise it is a very private little house. Merci beaucoup pour notre séjour dans votre belle maison, nous espérons y retourner à l'avenir. Ken and Jean
