The location right on the beach is what makes this property! It’s an older, rustic cabin like feel. The stove top is a little finicky with the heat and there was construction across the street. But being right on the beach is amazing and the house was clean with plenty of beds for everyone. We enjoyed our stay.

We each had our own rooms, used the cozy living room for work and meetings, and enjoyed the dining table for evening meals together. We also loved the hot tub for cocktail hour and the beach for work breaks. It was a very quiet, peaceful, and productive time watching the waves and getting work done.

This location is perfect, and the house has plenty of room for everyone!! Nice pictures that show the history of the house as well. Location is close to stores and town but you feel like you are way out on a beach. Thank you!

The views and access to the beach from this place are amazing! It is a perfect spot for large groups/families with the many bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and well-equipped kitchen. Host was responsive.

We loved being right on the beach! The large picture windows in the living room and dining room offer spectacular views. Enjoyed the cabin feel of the home. Very cozy yet spacious and comfortable for all nine of us. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved the view of the ocean. The windows are clean and so is the house. The hot tub was ready to go and a good temperature. The house is clean and adequately supplied kitchen had a little challenge with the fireplace, but got it going.

We really enjoyed our stay! The location and views were fantastic, and the house had everything we needed for our trip. It was comfortable and served our purpose well. There were a few minor cleanliness issues- some dust on the beams going down the stairs, stains in the refrigerator, and a dirty microwave - but overall, it was a great place, and we'd stay here again.

Walking in to the spectacular view is amazing! The house was stocked with pretty much everything we needed. A box of kleenex would be nice and a little plastic table out by the chairs would be great.

We would have rated this property higher if there hadn’t been a starling issue while we were there. Unfortunately, a family of starlings had a nest somewhere between the bedroom ceiling and the rafters. There was continuous chirping from early morning to evening and we could hear them moving around. We contacted the property manager as soon as we checked in. They did nothing to rectify the problem. Thankfully, the birds moved out midway through our stay.

The house was beautiful. Great views of the ocean. The steps to the beach made beach access easy. The area is nice and quiet. The beds were comfortable. No complaints!

We had a wonderful stay! I was very impressed with how friendly, quick, helpful, and kind they were. Very professional when we had questions. We needed a sponge for the kitchen and they brought it so quick! A neighboring air bnb had a loud guest and they took care of everything in a professional way. If I had to be picky it would only be the lack of water pressure in the showers but I think that is pretty normal in Lincoln City. Beach rental prices have soared with all the added fees from VRBO & AirBnB so, I doubt we'll be able to afford another visit but I would 110% recommend this place to others!

Fantastic stay and steps from the beach was amazing!

The house is very well equipped, we loved that it was not full of breakable knick-knacks. Vacationing with children can be stressful in a home full of knick-knacks. We loved the 'history of the home' in framed artwork. Loved the abundance of out-door chairs available. Our 3 generation group loved the weekend.

We appreciated being 12 steps from the beach and really enjoyed the great sunsets the last three nights. The pictures regarding the listing were a bit misleading using pictures from past and present so may want to only use the updated pictures in the listing. The fridge and dishwater where a smaller size for a studio size apartment maybe not for 10 guests staying in a home so it would have been helpful to understand that. We planned meals at the house most nights, and the kitchen was not set up for large groups. The cookie sheet available was too wide for the petite oven, and dishwasher was used after preparing each meal and again after eating each meal. Used coolers for extra food that did not fit in the fridge. The bbq is a charcoal bbq, and the chairs in the pictures have notes to not remove from the patio although in the picture it leads you to believe they can be in the grass. The notes all around the house on everything were very helpful to understand expectations. Overall, we really did enjoy being right at the beach but would just suggest the description be updated so no one is mislead.

We had so much fun. Lots of beach walks. Singing, cooking. The view is spectacular. It was hard to leave. We laughed and bonded and want to come back. It is now my favorite rental.

The location and ocean view is amazing. I particularly like the rustic interior of this location. Host was great to work with and we loved our stay!

We were so pleased with our stay. My 95 year old mother-in-law loved sitting in the living room gazing at the ocean. The rest of us loved that we could just walk across the front lawn, open the gate and then take the stairs to the sand. Wow! It was outstanding.Even more outstanding was Karen, the rental manager. After I booked I decided I wanted travelers' insurance, and she took care of that for me. She was patient when I found I might need to change our dates. She answered all my questions about stairs for my MIL, and was very gracious when I emailed her on the weekend to ask about dishwasher pods not realizing the directions were right there on the pods container! Jeepers! I hope we'll be going there again next year for a 96th birthday trip.

The listing pictures were mixed with old pics (before updates) and newer pics (after updates). So that was confusing when we arrived. Some windows down stairs and upstairs were painted shut. Air flow could only happen if an entry door was propped open. That was difficult because of the high winds and heavy rain. The property is in a great location. The kitchen is small. The house is cozy. There are lots of rooms on both levels. It needs some fixes, especially dealing with the painted windows. That could pose a Life-Safety issue should there be a fire and someone is trapped in a room where the windows are painted shut. We had a good time. We would consider staying again if a few safety/maintenance issues were addressed.

There are two items that should be included in the property description that will assist people in evaluating the property for rental.The house is not handicapped assessable. Access to any part of the property other than the upper bedroom area requires descending over 12 steps in a narrow stairway. Additionally, the doorways to the bathrooms are too narrow to accommodate a wheelchair. Fortunately, we had enough strong people to assist the handicapped member of party.The listing says there is parking for four vehicles. This is true if all the vehicles are the size of an Explorer or smaller. Two members of our party had 3⁄4 ton pickup trucks that unless parked diagonally in the lot would stick out into the street. Our three vehicles filled the lot. Fortunately, we only had three vehicles.

This was my 79th Birthday/New Years trip with my family of 8 (2 teenagers (15-19). As soon as we checked in, my youngest grandson gave me a hug and said, Grandma, this place is awesome! We all agreed! The house was very clean and well stocked with everything we needed, even a K-cup coffee maker! Most important for us was the easy beach access and the fantastic view but we all fell in love with the house itself! I am glad my tall sons have patience and a sense of humor for the small showers! LOL Hot tub was great, TV easy to use, watched football with our Fubo app., large table great for dice and board games, fireplace and comfy couches a plus. I am so happy to have chosen Stairs to the Sea! We ended the trip New Years Day with 3 brave family members running into the surf for a Polar Dip! At 79, I captured the memory on my camera! Thanks Karen and crew, we will RETURN!

Amenities were top notch. Customer service was great. To be honest, I didn't have to interact with the host until after our stay because everything went so smoothly. It was actually to check on some missing slippers for one of our group's toddlers. Not only had they found them but they also brought into Portland within days for us to pick up! We'll definitely plan a return trip. Highly recommend.

We loved staying here! Very cool nostalgic home! We made lots of memories that we can’t wait to make a yearly tradition! Being able to see the ocean from the hot tub was perfect! We saw lots of dolphins which was an unexpected bonus!

Totally worth the price for that amenity alone. It was nice to have several mats as well as a hose right by the front door to rinse off sand. There is plenty of seating to enjoy the views through the wall of windows. We appreciated that the hot tub was functioning and heated, as some properties charge extra for that. If you want to cook, there are plenty of dishes and more than the average amount of spices available. However, there are a few less desirable things to be aware of. Half of the lawn is dead and the other half is dirt (as of August 2024). The selling picture of pretty blue Adirondack chairs on grass is misleading, especially when guests are not even allowed to put the chairs on the yard. As with many properties on the coast, the house is sandwiched tightly in between two others, so it's easy to hear guests on either side as well as see their lights on at night. If you're looking for privacy, this isn't quite the place. There have been a few updates, mainly to the kitchen and living room, but the majority of the house it quite dated. Our priority was beach access, so this did not affect our experience, but it should be considered if a newer feel is your priority.
