Steps to Gulf! Pet-Friendly Galveston Getaway

We had a pleasant stay at this location. The view was great and it was close to the amenities we enjoy.

Great location. House needs a little work but was fine for us.

This sweet little beach house could not have been more perfect for our getaway!Our priority is always 1) patio w/view and 2) proximity to beach, so 100% there. The view from the covered porch was idyllic, with daisies blooming just past the yard, and beach so close. The beach seems to be private also, as there was public access to the east of us with trucks and cars parked on sand (about 3-4 houses down, with posts separating), but not in front of us. Very quiet on our stretch..also, the house is not directly on the main hwy like so many, and there is a quick route at west end of block to behind a small grocery store (1/2 a block), so you don't have to get on main hwy to fetch a missing grocery item! We felt very safe and loved this for last-minute purchases.The house itself, I will describe it as a fun little hippie house, which we loved. If you require fancy digs, it may not be your thing. Everything worked, ac in each room, stove, tv, coffee maker etc..beds were comfortable. Pictures are accurate. Drive into town for tours is not far at all. The West End Marina is also very close, and such a hidden surprise! The food was amazing. We had a blast, and hope to return!

We stayed at this house 2 years ago & booked it again for 9/5-9/8 we enjoyed it. Asked to check in early they told us the earliest was 2:30 which was fine we would have liked to check in at 2 since we got there earlier than expected but it all worked out. There were a few things broken on the deck & fence but i emailed the host & let them know. The only thing i would suggest is if you have guests checking in is to turn the ACs on at least an hour or 2 before guest arrive because the thermostat read it was 95 in the house & it took it awhile to cool down. Other than that we spent 90% of the time on the beach & it was absolutely perfect.

The location was excellent. The views were great. The neighborhood was quiet. The house is needing some minor repairs. It did have air conditioning, but the window units struggled to keep up with the heat and humidity of the day. Overall for a short stay, it was good. If we would have stayed longer, it wouldn't have been adequate.

Check in was a little disappointing because house had not been cleaned. Seems as though the cleaners were not told there would be a need to have it cleaned that day. The homeowner was exceptionally helpful & it was very beneficial to be able to talk directly with him. The Evolve associate was too far removed from the situation & would've had to talk with the owner to get anything done. Not sure what the benefit of Evolve was/is.The house itself was absolutely perfect for our stay, loved the half covered porch & the outdoor shower. Kitchen was very well equipped. The only issue was that the red floor lamp in the living room is missing a knob to turn it off/on---have to use pliers to get hold of the tiny metal protrusion....

This was absolutely the perfect little beach house! Right on the beach, very cute interior, porch was half covered so you could sit out in the middle of the day, outdoor shower was perfect for rinsing off before going inside….Owner was fabulous in helping w/ a missed cleaning before we checked in. Cannot wait to stay here again when we want a quiet, peaceful stay at the beach!

Truly love the location of this house. Unbeatable. Beautiful. Good distance from Galveston and on a nice beach that is basically private. The listing says washer and dryer as amenities but apparently they don't work? But was also told by the property manager that they aren't in the listing when they are mentioned several times and then he stopped responding to me. People came on the property and left stuff in the storage area downstairs which just feels like a safety issue. Heads up would be nice that someone would be on the property that's not us. The ac units went out on the last night, emailed host, no response. They came back on in the middle of the night. Backyard does have biting red ants so be aware of that as well. Could use a coat of paint on the on inside and some upgrades but otherwise it's a great, convenient little place to stay. I would stay here again for the location alone.

Perfect for a small getaway right in front of the beach, waves, and birds.

The house has great location, on a short dead-end street, right on the beach with easy access. A great grocery store and diner within walking distance. 15-20 minutes from Galveston proper.

Nice little beach house good for a small family. Reminds me of the lake cabin my aunt and uncle had years ago. Not as large as the neighboring properties but it's facing the same ocean. Very pleasant overall.

Very nice and clean house. Easy access to the beach. Love the view from the covered deck. Wish the grill would have been there and the washer and dryer would help with wet clothes but overall it was well worth the price and will rent again.

Nice little beach house for a couple or small family wanting easy access to the beach. The covered deck is amazing with a great view! Accommodations are older and very basic, for example there is no dishwasher, but we enjoyed our time there. One caveat, the bathtub and bathroom floor are extremely slippery when wet!

Great little place. It only has window units for AC which was our only tiny conplaint. Once we got the house cooled off it was great. We also used a cover to keep the luggt out in the morning so we could sleep a little longer. It was away from the hustle and bustle of Galveston, but close enough to drive in for lunch and dinner.

House is cute. The location is great. The host was super easy to reach and communication was great. There was an odor that would come and go, I am not sure if it was the house itself, or if it was from the plumbers that were working on something 2 doors down, but the host had maintenance out first thing the next morning to check it out (keep in mind, i was texting the host at 11pm, so the next morning was 100% above and beyond). I am sure the host would fix anything they could if there is a problem. There was a pretty severe storm with high winds and this little house is super sturdy considering it is on stilts and right on the ocean. To the host, i would say thankyou for a lovely stay.

Cute beach house. Not fancy but great price and location. Perfect for a quick getaway or a long leisurely vacation. Perfect view of the beach and gulf. 10/10 would recommend

We had a great time we always come here (7 years). Close to the water and to the grocery store. Great for anglers too!
