The house is nice, well equipped and clean. It’s close to the village and great hikes. Unfortunately the pictures featuring the house doesn’t reflect the location well, it’s very close to the road and you can hear every car and truck and the porch oversees the road so no quiet outside eating, The backyard was at time smelling like the septic tank.
Was a great place to getaway from the city and enjoy the country. An amazing view with a very cozy atmosphere.
We spent a long weekend here, doing some remote work/school as well as skiing and tubing at Plattekill Mountain. We had plenty of space in the house to spread out. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking, and kids enjoyed the various games. Plattekill is just under 30 minutes' drive. Owner was very responsive and friendly!
We were looking to stay away from the city craziness and boy we did it. This farm house is so accommodating and away from everyone with the only sound of the cows and beautiful old pines trees. The property is so big you can walk for about 45 minutes. And we just love it. We probably will comeback in spring if it’s available.
My girlfriends and I had a great time relaxing with our doggy friend. The host had great check in instructions and was very responsive. We enjoyed the town and the place for a getaway out of the city. This house would be perfect for a few friends or even families.
We had a lovely time staying in this farmhouse. The place was clean and so organized. We enjoyed the front porch and the cows mooing so much. It was such a relaxing time.
All the rooms are a nice size. The wood floors look original and are gorgeous. There is an homey feel and the beds are super comfy. Plenty of room for a family or two. Nice views and close to town. My only suggest I would be bigger and / or additional TV Don’t think you’d find a better place in Stamford.
Good: - well finished interior and quality materials - comfortable beds and nice linens - well-furnished kitchen and rooms - quiet and very private location - decent price compared to comparable Bad: - the grill was not ready for use (not easily accessible, inappropriate location) - bad shower head (very basic), water just goes everywhere instead of just straight down from the top... - toilet bowls and bathroom sinks not clean - only one small TV (32) in the living - check-out time is too early (before 11-12 pm would be best)
We were very pleased with the comfort and size of the rooms, and the very large kitchen was a nice bonus. It also opened up to a lovely sitting porch which overlooks a beautiful valley backed by mountains. The leaves are changing now so it was gorgeous. Loved seeing the cows there too! We especially appreciated the immaculate cleanliness of the house. Our family was very happy staying there and found the owner to be very helpful in answering questions about the area, etc.
Just one problem and it was not the fault of the home owner. Things happen.
