This is a home. Absolutely so cozy

We had a wonderful stay at this house! It’s incredibly spacious and perfect for relaxing. The kitchen is fully stocked, which is ideal if you enjoy cooking. One of the highlights was falling asleep to the peaceful sounds of the river—so calming.The hot tub was very clean, roomy, and a great way to unwind after a day out. The location is also super convenient, with easy access to Palisades Ski Area and the nearby lake Tahoe and quick trip to Reno airport.We highly recommend this place and would absolutely love to come back, especially in the summer!

This was exactly the kind of Tahoe cabin we had hoped it would be: Charming, historic, light-filled, right on the river (with a deckside hot tub) and incredibly close to Palisades skiing and the Tahoe River Trail. It was the perfect size for our group of 10 (4 adults and 6 teenagers); we had plenty of room to read, play games, make big communal meals and eat them together, and star gaze on the deck. The whole crew agreed we should come back again.

Great location for a family vacation. The house had a cool, old school cabin vibe. The river views, space to spread out, hot tub, wood burning stove stand out. Great proximity to Palisades ski area, Truckee and Tahoe City. Kitchen was spacious and well equipped. I would definitely rent again.

Our second stay at this property. Great house for our group of 9 adults skiing at Palisades. Has well stocked kitchen for cooking group dinners and easy drive to mountain.

This beautiful home was a perfect getaway for our family. The kitchen is very well stocked. The dining room sat all of us, the living room was so cozy and all of the beds were very comfortable. It is a beautiful home and everyone loved having their own room and it was a beautiful view out the window of the river. Bonus that it was snowing almost the whole time! Jim is very friendly and helpful and we look forward to visiting again soon!

The house was beautiful, the location was beautiful! The check in was interesting. The communicator told me I could in check in early and then showed up and didn’t remember he told me I could. He questioned who told me I could heck in early until I showed him the text message exchange. He gave me a bit of a scolding and proceeded to tell me how his wife and him are always irritated when guests ask for early and late checkin/outs. The neighbor yelled at two of the guest for not knowning where to park and they had barely pulled in to figure out the parking situation. My guest ere extremely offended. The neighbors dog bark all day and night. Now other than that, I would recommend this venue. It truly was beautiful.

Communication with host was great from start to finish. House exceeded expectations with a very well equipped kitchen and a large hot tub. This perfect ski house is along the river in a very safe area and minutes from Tahoe Palisades. Plenty of room for a large group - we were a family of 10 and it never felt crowded. Highly recommend and would definitely stay here again in the future.

Family of 4 staying 4 nights for ski trip to Palisades. Very charming/cozy, a bit quirky, house in the woods on the Truckee river. Hot tub on the river bank easily the star of the show. Lots of space/bedrooms - perfect for two families. Lots of books and games; newly remodeled kitchen extremely well stocked. House itself could use some TLC - paint touch up, railing and lighting fixes. W/D is in a separate room accessed from the outside. Very well located - easy to run into Palisades village to pick up dinner.

The house was amazing! Absolutely beautiful, spacious interior and incredible views of the river. The furnishings were attractive with a mountain-cabin vibe, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The kitchen was the best, though, roomy with a breakfast nook and stocked with everything you might need, including many thoughtful extras like spices and garbage bags. My group of 7 adults loved it. We would book this house again, for sure.

The property was perfect for our family’s annual ski trip. It has a big, well-stocked kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and a great spa overlooking the river. The VRBO photos are accurate. Don’t miss this jewel of a mountain cabin.

The owner was responsive and the house was great! You can't beat the rental price given the amazing location next to the river and close to Palisades Olympic village.

Old Tahoe Classic House
