Kingsley Lake, six miles east of Starke, Florida, is steeped in history and geological significance, as well as being one of the most popular recreational spots in Northeast Florida.
Kingsley Lake is the oldest and highest lake in Florida, being perched on the eastern slope of Trail Ridge, which was the first part of the Florida peninsula to emerge above sea level in the Pleistocene era. Geologists also believe that it was formed as a giant sink hole (over 90 feet deep at its deepest point).
It is also the most stable lake in the North Central Florida area, according to U.S. Geological Survey data, seldom fluctuating more than 16 to 18 inches in measurements above sea level. The water remains delightfully cool during the summer months, since it is fed by countless underground springs around the shore, as well as in the lake itself.
Kingsley Lake is 5.5 miles around the shore line, and 2 miles across in all directions. It covers approximately 2,000 acres, according to Starke surveyor M. G. McMillan.
When I first saw the property I wasn't sure if our family of 5 would comfortably fit but I was wrong. This place is spacious, clean, and perfect for swimming and fishing! We caught 3 bass and about 15 brim right off the dock. The owners were so easy to Communicate with and very responsive! You won't be disappointed!
I enjoy my stay there. It was very relaxing.
My family and I stayed at the location for our week vacation. Check in and check process was super easy. The house sits right on the water with lots of beautiful views.
Owner Responded back promptly with any questions or concerns
Older house... but those views are amazing. Felt like my grandpa’s fishing cabin. Overall great stay
Everything we expected and more. Hypnotic sunrises and sunsets. Lots of fish, birds and convenient location. Responsive owner delt with a water issue quickly and painlessly. Quiet and secluded plenty of everything you would need in the house. Nice neighbors and a very handy and fun Kayak. Front driveway fairy tale, beautiful trees, and nice neighbors. Looking down at the water from the bed every morning with two couples of ducks waiting for you to feed them.
We absolutely loved this place! Great swimming and boating area, wonderful views from the house, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of sleeping spaces. Just all around great experience. Like a step back in time but a little decorating updating would be good, get rid of the dusty hydrangea decor!! Loved the boat and dock area hung out a lot at night, loved the lights!
We love this house on Kingsley lake. The lake is always beautiful. The house is well-equipped clean and comfortable. Definitely plan to return.
The house was fully stocked with everything you could need. The beds were very comfortable. Listening to the water under the huse as you fall asleep is amazing.
