Spectacular views in very private and exquisitely landscaped setting

We really enjoyed our stay in Casa del Sol. We stayed for six weeks in March/April 2025. Klaas and Sandra, the property managers, made the check-in and check-out seamless. Isabel was friendly and very through; she keeps the inside of the house clean and organized. The pool cleaning crew, Wendy and Erick were great, and kind enough to let us practice our Spanish with them. Hats off to Alfonso and his gardening team. They do an impeccable job of maintain the gardens; the gardens are a true highlight of the property. The house is large and has a very convenient lay-out. She shows her age but still maintains her charm. The vistas are breathtaking. The beds are comfortable! Bonuses for us were having a gas stove, a bbq, and a deep pool – deep enough for cannonballs! The location is convenient being between Atenas and Grecia with easy access to the main highway Ruta 1. We highly recommend Casa del Sol! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Great place in a great location. The views are spectacular. I would stay there again. Hosts were also very responsive and helpful. A knife sharpener would be good to have for the kitchen, as knives were extremely dull; glad I brought my Buck knife. A steamer basket would also be useful for those who prefer to steam the fine produce available.

Very beautiful house. Grounds well maintained. Management very responsive. Clean, private and safe. Would stay again. Toucans in trees outside of window often.

What a great getaway! My husband and I really enjoyed the beautiful view and comfort of the house. The kitchen was fully appointed (salad spinner! wax paper!) so I was able to prepare meals with ease. Our dogs had fun in the spacious yard, but the smaller one figured out that she could squeeze through the front gate so we had to keep her tethered. The property managers were extremely prompt and responsive. Great vacation house!

We loved Casa Del Sol! Eautifully maintained and wonderfully clean and well equipped, it was the perfect spot for our stay.

We've rented many houses in Costa Rica (about 25) this one is near the top of our list, great view of the mountains with exceptional landscaping and less than 10 min from Atenas.If you like birds there are a good variety

Lots of birds. Great neighborhood. We bought a house while we were down there but the house I really wanted, and sold before we got there, was in view of this property. It sat there and mocked me the entire stay. lol

Was such a wonderful home. Tucked into a small neighborhood outside of Atenas. Every accomodation was perfect from arrival to check out. Sandra, Marco and Klaas are the utmost best in arranging all of our excursions all week. And even an unplanned trip into Jaco for tattoos and the beach. Thanks for everything. We lived at this property for a month and a half; it proved a perfect size for a couple both inside and outside the house as surrounded by a well-planned and well-kept garden. There was always at least one plant or shrub in bloom, and since the house sits atop a small hill overlooking a treed valley you were immersed in various shades of green and treated to a daily abundance of birds. The bright lights of the encroaching township have not reached the property yet, so even the nights were a treat while sitting at the outdoor table to enjoy a starry-lit sky. We particularly appreciated the full-size pool - morning, noon and night. The house is older and the kitchen and bathrooms could use an update, but this did not deter our enjoyment of it, especially because the house was priced very reasonably in comparison to other newer properties in the area, and because of the thorough weekly cleanings by Isabel. The description is generally accurate save for noting that the Satellite TV is subscription-based and there is no land-line. We were in good hands with PMA - the property managers (including Marian, Sandra, Marco and Klaas) with airport pick-ups, drop-offs, a wide-range of tours available, and our initial grocery list which was stocked for our arrival. We did all of our shopping in Atenas, which is about 20 minute drive away. It was not necessary to rent a car, as we were confidently able to rely on the local taxi drivers recommended by Sandra for any trips to town, on Marco who is a professional driver for the tours, and for the rest of the team for any minor issues with the house. Thank you all for making this part of our stay in CR feel like home.
