Stayed Nov 25, 2025You will not find a host that is more responsive or thoughtful. From the moment you walk into the house you feel at home. The kitchen is well stocked, plenty of dishes and misc items. The home was super clean.

Stayed Jul 2, 2025Rivendell is a gorgeous home located in the forest of Tahoe Vista. Access is very convenient off Hwy 267 and the neighborhood is quiet. Our stay was to celebrate my Mom's 90th birthday and bring back memories of when she lived in Kings Beach for 16 years. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and stocked with soap, travel size shampoo and travel size hair conditioner. The main living area is a large great room where people can sit on the large couches, at the dining table or be in the kitchen while everyone can see and talk to each other. The main deck was enjoyable to sit out at night to enjoy quiet. Our youngest enjoyed watching the chipmunks from the front window or hiking in the backyard and surrounding area. There is an electric charger in the garage for electric vehicles. We BBQ'd on the outdoor grill mostly. It was amazing that the kitchen was stocked with coffee pods (which we replaced), numerous spices, and people must leave their unused snacks because the pantry was full. We enjoyed swimming and playing at Kings Beach and found the children's playground off of National Ave in Tahoe Vista completely redone, complete with a PAR course for adults to exercise. We will remember Rivendell as a beautiful home to hopefully stay again as a short rental. The host provided timely communication and we experienced no problems. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your gorgeous home.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969If you are looking for an amazing and beautiful house to stay at while in Lake Tahoe area on the north side, then this is the house!!! The pictures are exactly the same as what you get. I booked this as a surprise trip for my husband for his birthday and our friends and family who came could not stop talking about how beautiful the house was. We spent majority of our time on the upper level deck because it was so peaceful outside and the weather was perfect. The house was super clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. The other nice part (maybe not for some who are attached to their phone) was due to location no calls in or out on your cell. Text messages still came through, but I still didn’t feel the need to have my phone with me. If you need to call or receive a call there is a working house phone, but being on vacation I didn’t want either. The closest grocery store is Safeway and it’s two miles down the mountain which is also where Kings Beach is. There is no drinking on that beach, but if you drive about a mile west past Safeway there is a little hidden pathway next to some cottages that leads to a beach where you can drink (was WAY more fun). I highly recommend going to Gar Woods to eat. Great food and drinks as well as a clear view of the lake. There is also a pier that leads down to the water there if you want some pictures. Overall everything exceeded our expectations and we all decided we will definitely be back to Lake Tahoe and we know exactly where we will stay again! ?

Stayed Mar 1, 2019We loved this house! It was so spacious, comfortable, well-appointed and just super nice! The beds were soft and warm and clean; the kitchen was great for cooking and socializing; we were able to snowshoe around right off the back patio and really enjoyed the pool table. The house had some games, puzzles, pantry necessities, great sound system, towels, etc. We had everything we needed for a beautiful weekend away in the mountains! Highly recommend. Thanks, Kristy!
