DETAILS: Experience a tranquil Palm Springs retreat at Maison du Soleil. Located within the Las Palmas neighborhood, this pet-friendly oasis is a stroll away from the Uptown Design District, allowing for easy exploration of boutiques, art galleries, design studios, and artful restaurants. The home sleeps up to 8 guests with 4 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms, and boasts sprawlinglandscaped grounds with towering palm trees, mountain views, a swimming pool, sitting spa, and bar.

Styled in eclectic decor with influences from mid-century modern design, classic Americana, and contemporary pop art, this Spanish-style sanctuary invites rejuvenation and artistic inspiration. Inside, French glass doors and tall windows fill the open great room with light, marrying indoor and outdoor entertainment spaces. Catch old movies on the cozy media area’s TV, or gather on the neighboring parlor’s L-shaped sofa and modernist chairs to discuss the latest art exhibit in front of the charming, wood-burning fireplace. There are 2 indoor dining areas for savoring formal meals crafted in the gourmet kitchen, which features granite countertops, a wine chiller, and GE and JennAir appliances. Spend mornings appreciating the European-inspired fountain and desert flowers, sipping coffee in the outdoor lounge, or starting the day with a few refreshing laps in the pool. A poolside bar, patio, and grill encourage outdoor refreshments—mix up a pitcher of sangria to share at the 3-stool bar or 2-top table as the chef of the group barbecues lunch. When the sun sets on the mountains, soak in the views from the softly lit sitting spa and let worries drift away. Guests will find 2 guest bedrooms in the east wing and 2 in the west, providing privacy and peaceful rest. Of the 4 bedrooms, 3 feature a king bed, while 1 has a queen bed—each bedroom enjoys a private bathroom and TV.

A prime location and inspiring amenities make Maison du Soleil an ideal escape for relaxing and exploring Palm Springs. Thanks to parking for 4 vehicles in the driveway, it’s easy to uncover downtown attractions, visit the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, or take a scenic day trip to Joshua Tree National Park. The place is centrally located and has ample room for all to stretch and relax. Components of the house are a little dated and likely due for an update, including the mattresses and bathrooms, but the pool and spa both work well.

We had an amazing girls weekend. The house was spacious and perfect for our group. The outdoor area is fantastic. Everyone said their beds were amazing.

We loved this house! We were a group of 4 women friends who wanted a Thanksgiving get away. It worked perfectly with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Everyone had their own personal space. The neighborhood is beautiful, and very walkable. We had 2 small dogs with us, and really enjoyed our daily outings. We all had a very positive experience. As far as constructive criticism, the TVs could use a better system ;every one had many remotes, none of which seemed to consistently work. As dog lovers, we understand the toll on a house, but the carpets could use a good deep clean or replacement. I think it would also be very helpful to have a House Binder with pertinent info. But to circle back, we really enjoyed ourselves and would rent the home again in a heartbeat.

We have been renting weekly properties in PS for the past ten years, minus 2020. This vacation evolved relatively last minute compared with our past stays. I'm a Boomer and I did the hole thing on-line by my self. Because of past experiences we new to look in the Las Palmas and Old Las Palmas neighborhoods. We prefer the proximity to Palm canyon Dr. and downtown. This property was my families favorite! We have been looking for a place such as Maison du Soleil to rent for a month at a time .Usually the end of February to the end of March and we would love to return to Maison du Soleil. Before this could happen those responsible for maintenance and upkeep need to focus on a few things. Such as the crappy garden outside the master bathroom (get the pun?). Its embarrassing! The breezeway between the master bedroom and laundry room is cluttered with stuff that doesn't need to be there as well. The fountain in the front yard is full of pond scum and should be running from sun up to 10 at night. That would eliminate the problem. The pool that is suppose to be set to 85degrees is more like 75 degrees. The pool fountain came on at 6pm every night for 20 min. The other backyard fountain had it 's own schedule. The palapa bar is cute, but not very functional. What we really loved about Maison du Soleil was the covered veranda. It was were we spent the majority of our time. However the ceiling fans were not all working, or maybe we just couldn't figure it out. We loved the fact that there were four bedrooms with their own bath. The only TV that we were able to use was in the master bedroom. Not real convenient for family and guest viewing. While we are on the master bedroom, the bed is the worst bed I have slept in, in quite some time. I not joking! Get a new master bed! Finally there is no Guest Familiarization note book. What info that was made available had nothing to do with the operation of the house. Every other house we have rented had a guest info binder. It's not hard to create and helps alleviate guest anxiety when dealing with the intricacies of an unfamiliar luxury home. Last but not least, we were fortunate to have visited the desert during a milder than normal climate and rarely used the A/C. When we did turn it on it operated noisy and ran like an out dated system. Could use an upgrade. MdS is a diamond in the rough and with little effort it can shine much brighter.
