Stayed Nov 28, 2025Gisele, our host, could not have been more accommodating. She understood our special situation of visiting our daughter and son-in-law in welcoming our first grandchild and provided us a warm, conveniently located, thoughtfully furnished, and decorated haven for us to navigate our month away from home. We could have not asked for or needed anything more. Her prompt communication, attention to detail, flexibility, (greatly appreciated when the baby arrived 3 weeks early) and patience made an uncertain time feel like a home away from home. We look forward to staying with her again for our future visits. Great location. Easy walk into town and to SL Reservoir.

Stayed Jan 2, 2022The property is one half of a small duplex. We stayed here for five months and I highly recommend it. Great location, cozy, and has everything you’d need for an extended stay. The kitchen is small but sufficient. As others have noted, the garage is very narrow…too narrow for our car, but finding street parking was rarely an issue. There’s a tiny patio out front. If you have a dog, a great dog park is nearby. Five stars!

Stayed Aug 1, 2020I was beyond fortunate to stay at this gem of a property for six months in 2020. The bungalow presents exactly as advertised; clean, warm, cozy, and stocked with everything you need for long-term renting. The property is perfectly situated in Silver Lake ... it's walking distance from coffee, restaurants, boutique shopping, and the fabulous doggy park! Gisele and Guy are absolutely wonderful property owners too. I was greeted with fresh flowers and a handwritten note welcoming me to the bungalow, which was deeply appreciated. They respect your privacy while at the same time providing immediate, efficient, and friendly service ... they are truly great to rent from. I loved my experience at the bungalow so much that I also rented it for the month of June, 2021. I highly recommend this wonderful property which is exquisitely maintained by excellent owners.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The apartment is a nice space with an eating area in the kitchen, a separate dining room, and a living room with easy chairs. Also a sitting area in the bedroom. The weather in LA this December was unusually cold and none of the housing seems to be built with the insulation we are used to in the mid-west. Luckily there was a portable electric heater which helped warm either the bedroom or the bathroom depending on where it was placed. The built in heater helped warm the dining room and kitchen. The warning about the narrow driveway and small garage was adequately described. We had a Toyota Camry which just made it because the side mirrors folded in. After parking in the garage one night, we decided on park on the street thereafter. It sometimes took 10-15 minutes to find a parking place. The clothes washer and dryer were great. When we requested a second house key from the owner, it was brought over right away. There are nice places to eat within walking distance and the Silver Lake Resevoire and park are within walking distance. To summarize: good living space, walkable location, responsive owner, good clothes washer/dryer. The biggest negative for us was the parking situation.

Stayed Sep 20, 2019We needed a location close to our son, daughter-in-law and new baby girl to help out for a couple weeks after the birth. This location served us well and we will certainly be back.

Stayed Jul 12, 2019Loved the house - just as advertised! Location was good, although the garage parking was a bit of a challenge due to the long, narrow driveway and busyness of the street. Otherwise, all was good. The area, which we had never been in, was great with lots to do (sunset blvd; Silver Lake running trails) a short walk from the house. Plenty of eating and drinking options nearby as well.

Stayed Jun 26, 2019This little bungalow was perfect for our needs--well equipped and very comfortable. We were able to entertain family and host my cousin who said the sofa bed was comfy! Gisele was especially accommodating since we decided to extend our California stay and were able to move into this property from the back ivy covered cottage. We were able to fit our rental, a Hyundai Tucson, in the garage space, too! Thank you Gisele and Guy for a wonderful first VRBO experience!

Stayed Jun 14, 2019We loved staying at this property for ten days and would happily return. Outside: the busy and sometimes noisy hustle and bustle of the trendy Silver Lake District. Inside: a beautiful and peaceful oasis with plenty of room for a single or a couple. Great cafes and a fantastic coffee shop are a block away. The furnishings are comfy, old style and plentiful, the walls are decorated with original artwork that add to the feeling of escape. There are AC units and fans to keep you cool, but in the evening you can open all the windows and French doors to let the LA breeze move through the many rooms. The house had everything you’d want, well stocked bath and kitchen, and communication with the owner was great. A few small caveats: This unit is half of a duplex, and there is a third tiny bungalow behind it, detached from the duplex; all three units share a very narrow driveway that leads to a small 2-car garage, and a smaller (third) parking space (used by the back bungalow). It is a bit of a tango to navigate into these spaces and to get back out. We sometimes heard other renters and only once had to negotiate tricky parking with the rear renter, who was extremely considerate. On the surface this sounds less than ideal, but I have to say it all worked fine over ten days. This is after all a big city, and you’d experience the same tight parking in a rental in Rome, New York or San Francisco. And although it took a little forethought to park, you cannot beat having a guaranteed off-street space in this busy district. I’d happily rent here again. Other reviewers have said so: I have to urge you to be sure to rent a small, narrow car in order to make the most of the private parking space. A full size car or SUV will be very tough to park. This is a small caution offered in exchange for a unit that is really a first-rate value.
